Works great for adjusting the height of my slab flatting jig. Very happy with the ability to extend the reach of the router.

Works great for reaching down and hogging out material with a 2 inch bit, or doing fine line work deep on the bottom of your piece. It ran perfectly straight with no vibration even with that heavy bit on there. Remember to adjust your speeds according to bit size people, and check the depths of your bits when seated in the router arbor. Stop tossing them in there and just tightening them down. I see a lot of complaints on here about wobbling. It's usually due to human error or worn equipment by those that "know what they're doing" Tools and most other things have specs on how to use them properly or set them up, speeds, depths, capacity etc. Read the material and make sure you're doing things the ACTUAL right way so you don't get hurt. I 100% would buy this again but it's solid and I doubt I'll ever need another one.

Fits and works well well balance

This works well, but i took away a star for a VERY small wobble that occurs when spinning up, but it tends to settle down at full speed.

I read some of the reviews about this product. Some reviewers were concerned with vibration. I will be putting this in my drill press and measuring runout with a runout gauge. Should there be a problem, I will turn it on a metal lathe to true it up. Based on what i have observed so far it runs smoothly and when it turns warm again this winter, I will do the runout test. The threads are clean and the collett adjusts smoothly. It is a great product for those who are working with large routers and planing slabs. I purchased a 3 edge planing bit to work in conjunction with this extension. The only concern I have is the bending stresses on the router bearings. I am using this on my Porter Cable 1.75 HP router. I will be cutting no more than an 1/8" deep until I find a good comfort level with this combination. I also have a Jet Shaper and have had problems using some of my pattern bits. Often with thicker slabs, the router bits are not long enough to allow the bearing to reach the full depth of the wood. This should solve that problem. You may not use this all the time in your woodworking, but having it when you need it is good. It is a good product and the price is right.

Couldn't seem to find this information anywhere, so I wanted to write a quick review. After sticking a router bit all the way in the extension (and pulling out ~1/16"), the increase in overall length was right around 2 inches. I will definitely be updating this review, once I've got the rest of my router sled built and had a chance to use it, but so far it looks fine. Would've like a wrench to go with it, but at this price, it's hard to complain too much. UPDATE: finally got my sled built and excitedly installed this extension. But when I turned it on, the noise was so loud, it sounded like something wasn't tight, a vibrating racket that sounded like something was going to explode off the router! I took it off, tried the router. Sounded fine. Installed just the bit. Fine. Installed just this extension (yes, with the empty collet tightened). Aaaaaaargh! Might be poorly balanced, I don't know, but it is UNUSABLE! I do not recommend this item.

Using this in my Bosch 1617 router with a surfacing bit to flatten slabs in a router sled. Have not encountered any problems or vibrations. Fits the router and my 1/2 inch shank bit well, and tightens/hold without difficulty. Materials and construction seem of good quality. Using with a larger diameter bit, so have not used it at higher RPMs.

je me suis procurer cette extension pour rallonger un couteau pour facer des pièces de bois ,c'est une accessoires très utile à avoir aucune vibration l'ors de l'utilisations recommande sans hésitation. Et aussi gros merci a amazon car je ne sais vraiment pas ou j'aurais pu me procurer cette pièce dans la région ou je suis.
