For me it works much better than pills

I have been taking the liquid Docusate Sodium for years now and have taken many different brands. I had fissure surgery about 20 years ago and the Doctor told me to take this medication, probably for the rest of my life. I have trouble swallowing a pill, so that's why I take the liquid. First, I tried taking this medication with a soft drink, then I tried juice, then I tried the only thing that will kill the very strong, bitter, awful taste of this medicine. I just mix the dosage the doctor told me to take with a glass of milk ( I use 2% milk) and it will dull the strong taste enough to where you can tolerate it. Nothing else worked, and I'll pray for you if you try and take this stuff without diluting it at all!!

The instructions are to take however many teaspoons-but not until lower on the label does it mention diluting in 8 oz of milk or juice. I took it straight and thought for sure I was poisoned when I swallowed the small teaspoon dose. I choked and my throat felt like I swallowed acid. In fact, I had a headache and sore throat for the rest of the day. I’ll take constipation any day over this! It was very frightening. I read another review from someone who had a similar experience- I can definitely relate. And nothing was done to fix it obviously because it was from almost a year ago. This label MUST be clearer about diluting the product. It truly is dangerous and scary!

I have used big gelcaps before. Hard to swallow and i would get a tummy ache in an HR. I got this to try. I read some reviews and most said take with milk. I took a mild dose for 2 days and not much happened. I then read more on it and 6tsp. Was mentioned. I used 6tsp to 12oz of milk. In 2 days it worked a lot of very easy to pass and ever day the same. I finally had full complete movements that were soft. I highly recommend. Must put in milk though it does irritate throut without it.

My Mom is 100 so I chose this because she is having a hard time swallowing the stool softener pills. Her caregiver put this in different drinks and with applesauce but she didn’t want to take it because she really doesn’t like the taste. I would guess it has the right effect but I don’t know because she would only take it for a couple of days before she started refusing it.

Make sure you read how to take this product. It had no effect on me so I can’t honestly recommend it as being a good laxative.

I had surgery in one ear and ever since it has created a lot of ear wax. I used to have to go get it removed routinely from the ENT. Not anymore. I put this in my ear before bed, wait 15 mins, then roll over and let it come out. Next morning I just rinse my ears in the shower. If I have more wax than usual, I will do it for 2-3 days. A lot of the wax just disintegrates so you’ll have improved hearing before you even rinse. Highly recommmend!

I purchased it to soften cerumen (ear wax) before irrigating the ear canals. Works great for this purpose.
