Lovely design -- nice and slim and relatively quiet (though does make a fairly high pitch). Even comes with a carrying case -- what a nice surprise! Front-loading is quick and it has a nice spring to the loader. As with all Blu-Ray drives, it's completely useless unless you know a fair deal what you're doing when it comes to messing with drivers to bypass AACS encryption -- no modern CPUs being produced have the hardware that supports the vanilla software they intend you to run this with. If you want to use this with VLC, you'll need to flash the firmware to 1.00 and use MakeMKV to install LibreDrive on it -- which isn't complex, but not particularly easy either (though certainly easier than installing the crap they intend you to setup). With that done you can run this on any PC pretty much (ignore the faff about requiring a certain old intel chipset feature) and it does a more than competent job at running Blu-Ray. If you're on a Mac don't waste your time and just buy a set top player.

This drive is absolutely fantastic, only thing have not tried yet is to play 4k content on it, or tried burning, but it is whisper quiet and even comes in its own hard case, for the money, this is excellent value when it is also future proof, first I was hesitant as had never heard of the name before, but well worth the money, its literally plug and play so don't have to find drivers for it either 5 out of 5 I would rate this at, as I dont expect problems with either playing 4k content or burning disks with it.

I bought this in order to play 4k Blu Rays on my PC. My PC is specced out to thme max - 14th gen i9, RTX 4090, 64gb ram, but it does not work. I was advised in the porduct spec before buying that I needed Cyberlink PowerDVD software in order to play UHD BDs - I bought this for another £44.95. Cyberlink no longer support UHD BD playback. It does not work. I contacted Cyberlink tech support. They have remove3d UHD BD player back due to differing standards. VLC does not work. Windows Media Player does not work. Drive is therfore useless to me. Returned, somewhat angry and disappointed, for a full refund. Unless you want this to write your own Blu rays or for data back, I strongly suggest you do not buy.

Relatively expensive, but you get what you pay for: in this case, quality construction. The player worked immediately. With MakeMKV, I can rip Blu ray discs without issues. The only negative is that the cable supplied is FAR too short.

Will not play 4K disk on my AMD 4K HDR laptop but was able make a copy using makemkv and that played fine with pdvd. Only problem there is the half hour+ it can take to make the copy before you can watch it. Nice solid piece of kit though.

Excellent product. Worked well straight from the box. Finding and installing compatible software to get the best from it took a little while longer.

Overall this does what you need it to do. Watched a couple of blu rays now and with no issues. You get the cables and a pretty nice carry case. HOWEVER bear in mind if you’ve a mac system, your up a creek without a paddle as none of the software on mac plays blu ray now. On windows it seems to be only Cyberlink Power DVD, which has a pretty bad installation bug. Once past that though it all works fine. Just bear in mind you’re paying £140 for this, and then £80 for the software (or £45 if you signup for the subscription) At this point it might be worth just buying a stand alone blu ray player

Recibí esto hoy y no pude hacer funcionar ningún disco. Al intentar reproducir una película 4K, al insertar el disco, dice que el disco no es compatible. Al intentar reproducir una película de Bluray, dice que la región no es compatible. Probé diferentes discos de Australia, España, EE. UU. y el Reino Unido, ninguno funcionó. Compré otro reproductor externo y eso también fue inútil. No vale la pena hacerse con estos para ver películas. Más para que mis hijos se los lleven cuando visiten a su madre. De todos modos, el artículo va a volver a Amazon.

Je cherchais un lecteur Blu-ray pour PC sous Windows 10 pour pour pouvoir lire des BD-RE enregistrés comme sauvegardes d'un Lecteur Blu-ray/DD de salon. Comme tout un chacun, j'ai vite été perdu dans la multitude de modèles, de normes toutes plus abracadabrantes les unes que les autres, d'avis allant du tout bon au tout mauvais, bref .. la jungle. Et comme tout un chacun, j'ai beaucoup, beaucoup hésité avant de mettre 150 euros voire plus dans ce type de matériel. J'ai finalement opté pour ce modèle, malgré la marque qui m'était totalement inconnue (contrairement à Pioneer, Hitachi, Samsung, Asus et bien d'autres), essentiellement pour son côté "plug and play". La suite, la voici : Acte 1 : réception du colis. Temps d'acheminement record, colis sécurisé par demande de code à la livraison .. rien à dire, c'est pro. Acte 2 : déballage et mise en route. L'ensemble est parfaitement emballé, plutôt "lourd", ce qui est bon signe. Au déballage, le boîtier en alu brossé noir est plutôt classe, tout est parfaitement emballé dans différents sachets plastique (pas très éco-responsable, mais bon : ça permet de s'y retrouver). La notice en "Le français" comporte des fautes d'orthographe, mais comme elle ne fait que deux pages, on pardonne. La mise en route est simplissime : allumage du PC, raccordement des USB sur le lecteur et sur le PC, insertion d'un disque (BD-RE) et là .. c'est censé fonctionner. Chez moi, VLC s'est lancé automatiquement et a immédiatement affiché un message d'erreur. Bon, apparemment le logiciel ne sera pas VLC. On part ensuite à la recherche des infos sur les logiciels. Je suis tombé peu de temps après sur Leawo Blu-ray Player, qui semble gratuit mais avec de la pub (gratuit pour l'instant .. je n'ai pas réussi à savoir si c'était une version d'essai). Installation rapide, téléchargement de la dernière version de Java (sans laquelle le logiciel ne pouvait fonctionner, tout cela est automatique), et enfin : oh miracle !, au bout d'un petite heure : la première vidéo Blu-ray enregistrée sur mon disque se lit !! La suite au prochain numéro, mais déjà, pour ce qui est de lire des BD-RE issus d'un DD de salon, ça fonctionne et c'est rapide ! A noter le seul petit bémol du lecteur : un boucan de tracteur lorsque le disque se met en route (rien à voir avec le lecteur de salon par exemple). Moi qui suit tout seul sur mon PC, ça ne me gêne pas particulièrement, mais ce peut être un élément à prendre en compte dans un environnement de bureau type open space ou espace familial réduit. Acte 3 : lecture de CD : rien à dire, ça marche impeccable. Pour info, j'utilise fre:ac Audio Converter pour sauvegarder mes CD audio en .flac sur mon NAS.

Veramente bello, ben fatto e di alta qualità. Arrriva con una unità Pioneer BDR-UD04 aggiornata all'ultimo firmware. Funzionamento impeccabile. Corpo esterno in alluminio ed interfaccia USB C veloce e stabile. Cosa chiedere di più????
