Awesome Fret Leveler and very durable.
This is a very beefy tool. The edges are nice for leveling frets and checking to see if there is any change in elevation. With the reputation of Stew Mac behind this tool it is a must need for any guitarist who likes to work on their own guitars. The thickness is ideal and far superior to any of the other fret rockers out there. The price is comparable with what you get in the sturdiness of this tool. I have had great success with checking and leveling frets.

Lurking for years, finally pulled the trigger
I'm a Stewmax member, and i'Ve never seen this tool as cheap as I have seen it here, which is odd. But as soon as I saw it, I snapped it up. Stewmac makes great tools, and when a deal comes it's time to try them... I haven't tried it yet, but this has a very basic function, and if I never have to use it, that means I'm not having fret problems.

Precise and Unintrusive
Nothing better for a quick fix of those stubborn spots hard to detect with the stings off. Acts as a proactive fret rocker to both discover and file down uneven frets. Well worth the money!

It works
I'm experimenting on an older beginner guitar to see how well this tool functions. You do need to use some elbow grease and it does take a minute to file down any high spots but it does work. Plus it's StewMac so hopefully the fact that I got it on amazon, won't void the lifetime warranty.

Pricey but nice. Wait for a sale.
I was pretty hesitant given the price, but I snagged one on Black Friday for a good deal and I’m glad enough to have it. Nice solid weight, and a good quality all in all. Has a really nice weight to it, which is nice in a file I think.En though it’s honestly pretty rare that you find a handful of high frets without a few extra low ones dictating a total fret level anyway, for those rare times it’s nice to have a fool proof tool to use.

Quick
This file is great. Dealing with a couple high frets is fast and easy to get it right. With this file, a fretboard mask tool and sand paper/steel wool, I can touch up high frets in a few minutes. Especially useful on acoustics and set-neck electrics where the joint swells and you only need to knock down a few frets at the joint.

I am very glad I bought this..
This really is the perfect go to for spot leveling your frets. You could use a small flat file, sandpaper and a stick etc, but this thing is nice, spot on, and makes quick work when you have a few unlevel frets to contend with. This,a decent leveling beam and crowning file or 3 sided file, along with a notched straight edge and a few sheets of sandpaper "say 500 to 1000 grit, some fret erasers or micro mesh cloth for fine polish and you are on your way to perfect fretwork. You might want to pick up a regular fret rocker as they are cheap and good to have an extra, although the frettkisser is also a fret rocker. The stewmac z file, music nomad s file, and fret guru dagger are all top notch crowning files BTW.

Just works.
This thing works great. But you need the neighboring frets to be level in order to correct the tall spots of the offending fret. If they are not, then you have to do some "free handing" with the smallest side and constantly check your progress with a fret rocker. Don't ask how I know.
