Best water bottles I’ve tried
I’ve tried 3 other types of water bottles and those didn’t work out. These were the only ones to not have significant leaks, and the little bead doesn’t get stuck in the nozzle. Other ones I’ve tried, I’d have to shake the bead back down. These ones work great! That being said, I do place the nozzle in between two grids in my c&c cage for stability. A zip tie also works.I like that the bottle is clear, and you can see exactly how much water is left. Plus glass is better than plastic!

Beautiful, holds a lot of water, and works perfectly with a bottle holder.
This is a beautiful water bottle that holds enough to last my male guinea pig almost 2 days without refilling. The glass is high quality and rinses out easily. The bottle neck and spout are slightly larger than our previous smaller plastic water bottle, and the bottle brush goes in easier for cleaning. The water comes out a bit faster, but the ball does a good enough job keeping the water in. I always check the flow by turning it upside down and pushing in the ball before putting it in the cage. Sometimes I need to adjust the rubber ring inside the cap by making sure it's in all the way, but I've never had problems with leaks. I put it in a $4 metal bottle holder that I already had, and it fits perfectly, holding the bottle securely in place. I love it.

I got a dud
I've experienced some leaky water bottles in my time, but this was just awful. There was fast dripping when I first hung it, but all the bottles I've bought leak a little at first and then stop after a minute - so while I thought the initial leakage looked a bit too fast, I decided to wait it out and see. I came back in five minutes and the entire bottle was empty, its contents pooled below it on the floor of the cage (my rats thought this was fun and were splashing around in it; I was not so amused). I tried hanging the bottle at different angles but just couldn't get it to work in any way that wouldn't leak profusely. Part of the problem was that it wasn't just leaking from the nozzle but also from the seam between the nozzle and cap (the seal wasn't tight enough I guess). I wrote about this in a review of the Super Pet variety and hate to sound like a broken record, but there just doesn't seem to be much consistency in the quality of these things: a friend of mine hated the Super Pet bottle but has this one and it works great for her; the reviews of this bottle are high but I had problems; the reviews of the Super Pet are low but I loved it; I've had similar experiences with other bottles when I was using the plastic kind. It seems like quality is random at best for these things. That being said, I wouldn't dissuade someone from buying this, I would just tell them to keep the receipt until they gave it a good test run.

Lixit makes the best glass bottles
Lixit is my favorite bottle, albeit a bit more expensive compared to the Living World or Super Pet bottles. It hangs better through cage bars.for those who say their bottles leak, etc. Here is a bit of advice...I use glass bottles on all my rodent cages, as with any water bottle, you must make sure the washer is properly seated to prevent leaking. Use a pointed object like knitting needle to press the washer down evenly if the bottle is leaking. The washers will come loose during refilling, so turn the bottle right-side up over a sink and watch to make sure that the drips slow and then stop. Test the ball-bearing by tapping the end to ensure that water does come out. Do this EVERY time, with EVERY water bottle no matter what brand.I have owned rodents for over 15 years, there is always a chance of getting a water bottle of any kind that will not work properly. Lixit has an excellent track record for me. I was a bit disappointed that the two bottles I ordered from Amazon were missing the floater (the green turtle) though. I plan on writing Lixit and asking for them because it makes it easier to judge water levels when the bottle has a bright float in it.

16oz Bottle Bracket NOT Included
The 16oz water bottle did not come with the advertised support bracket. The Heavy duty 16oz bottle features our stainless steel pedestal to hold the bottle in place, not true! Bottle is unstable on side of cage.

Well-made and easy to maintain
After a decade of using these in various sizes for parrots and sugar gliders I have never encountered a problem with leaking. I believe it must be user error as some people have stated the problem is making sure the rubber washer is flat. I use glass because it is uniform and easier to sanitize effectively. The glass and the plastic head hold up to being soaked in searing water with disinfectant. The only design flaw, judging from my experience using the product, is the flexible metal wire that is meant to hold the bottle in place. It works for the smaller bottle sizes of this same design, but for the size and weight of the bottle when full it tilts to the side if one is using a cage with a greater amount of horizontal bars than vertical. This dispenser spout will be usable by small to large birds and of course rodents such as guinea pigs or large rats. It holds enough volume to last a chinchilla or rabbit through the day. Again, if a bottle leaks, check that the rubber washer is in tightly and flat.
