Brabantia 123184 Tasty+ Kitchen Utensils Set Plus Stand, Mixed Colours

Love these utensils.BUTRecently there has been an article on TV about the use of black plastic to make kitchen utensils because they are made from recycled black plastic full of contaminates. Since writing this I have heard from Brabantia and been assured that they only use food grade virgin plastic with all the correct food grade certification. Wonderful I will continue to use.Are these made from virgin plastic or recycled?I am not sure where to get an answer to this but maybe the manufacture will see this and respond to all.

Honestly spoons are spoons, etc, but these are comfortable to hold and a sturdy product. I did melt one slightly by leaving it on a pot too long, but it's minimal. I do plan on ordering at least one more of the spoon/spatula ones because I like it so much.

This set produced by Brabantia, more well known for their high end kitchen waste bins, is good but not of the same quality in my opinion.It comprises 4 pieces made from fairly rigid plastic. Each has a small rest. Not big enough for the utensil to pivot handle end down when on the work surface, but helps to stop the utensil from sliding into a pan.It comes with a stand. Not ideally designed its a bit too low so gets easily knocked over. The surface is slightly recessed and by the cooker gets splashed and/or dusty so needs lots of cleaning. Its going in the dish washer as often as the utensils!1. Spoon- this is a little on the small side, but has a useful flat on the end which is good for stirring dishes such as risotto where you don't want it to stick on the bottom.2. Draining spoon- this is good for veg, but not so much spaghetti, (but what is!). It's almost flat on the end if held up right and can be used for mashing really soft veg. Not as good as a proper masher but easier than a fork.3. Laddle- this is smaller than my soup spoon ladles but bigger than a sauce ladle. It has a pouring spout on the end, which is ok but I find it easier to use ones where the spout is on the side.4. Fish slice- this is quite small. Ok for salmon but not so good for flat fish. It has 2 small prongs making fork like. At first I was not sure if I'd ever use these but actually if you want to hold some thing down in a pan and cut into it see if its cooked its quite handy.Quite good as a first utensil set.

This is a set of four multi use kitchen tools that come with a shallow stand in which to insert the handles. The stand itself is pretty pointless. It is very shallow – basically just a square with slots in - & it isn’t dishwasher safe. I’ll be putting mine into a pot I have with the rest of my utensils. The tools are made of a very rigid plastic – there is very little give in them which I found quite annoying, it makes it hard for example to get the spatula underneath whatever’s in the pan. That said – for times when you don’t want overly flexible tools – they’re spot on! Currently priced at just less than £23, they’re good value only if you need a full set and don’t have a utensil pot - otherwise I’d just buy individual tools as required.

Strong and sturdy and they look nice. I like the fact that they don’t bend so they don’t flick food out of the pan.

Great design, doesn’t scratch any of my pots and pans.

This is a reasonably robust set of four kitchen utensils from Brabantia. You get a small stand, and the four double-function implements. These include a soup ladle and scraper, a spatula and fork, a serving spoon and scraper, and finally a skimmer and ladle.All of the utensils are dishwasher safe but the stand is not. The implements can be used up to 220 degrees and come w’ith an impressive five-year guarantee. Each utensil comes with the Brabantia name on the handle and a notch to secure the implement on the edge of a pan. The utensils are all safe to use with no stick cookware.This is a good set, let down slightly by the maximum temperature the utensils can cope with, and the minor irritation that the stand is not dishwasher safe. The stand is also rather lightweight and moves about on a work surface.Overall four stars
