Milodon 22040 Stainless Steel Oil Pan Dipstick for Ford 302/351W/429/460

Worked perfect for my 351W! Fit nicely in between my engine and BBK Headers. I did add a brass adapter onto the oil pan bung, this gave it a bit more height, and worked great! Just note, you will have to make your own "Filled" lines with a narrow file.

The dipstick is good looking... The problem is, when used in your Milodon deep sump oil panfor the Dodge 5.7 hemi, the handle choice is between your headers or in the wheelwell by the tire. The engineers who designed this did not install this before putting this out for sale..You might want to get some experienced technicians to test your products...Good thing I worked on cars & trucks for 40 years, so I know what to do to fix your problem....Good Luck,Daddyododge1

I called Milodon to ask how far the stick protrudes beyond the tube. Their tech support said (after lengthy deliberation) 5". So I bought it for a custom job I am doing. I machined an oil pan around these specifications. When the stick arrives, it has 3". Not mad at Amazon, but Milodon. Why not have this important specification available readily? Also, why not make the stick actually 5" longer than the tube? If it's too long for someone, they can cut it off, but being too short is killer. Amazon was great about taking it back, but it is purely Milodon's fault. It's my second stick from them and probably my last. If they cared, maybe their tech support might have looked at the physical product when I called. Anyway, Canton has one I'll try because it looks like its adjustable but certainly not as attractive as this piece. Don't let the good looks fool you. It's not even the stick you are buying in the pictures.

Part looked like it had been sitting on a shelf for 10 years ,and Quality of the part needs to be fixed the Dipstick needs to be flexible not solid

Ordered this for a Ford 460ci (ordered from Summit Racing). As soon as it arrived I noted it looked too short. It does fit in the engine but it is too short. You will somehow have to navigate around hot exhaust/headers to get to it. I ended up putting an 8 inch piece hose around the handle so it stuck up high enough to pull out without burning myself. Will use it but have my eye open for something better
