Mid-Back Office Chair with Breathable Mesh, Flip-Up Nylon Arms, Tilt Mechanism, Black

I'm not exactly an office chair connoisseur, but at ~$70 it really stands out as a great deal. So far, it seems pretty sturdy--the silver-looking parts at the base of the arms are actually cast aluminum (I believe), and all of the nuts seat into bolts embedded in the materials.It took about 30 minutes to put together--probably much easier than putting together, say, a computer desk. There's an allen wrench included, which is pretty much all you'll need...but if you have a soft, small-faced mallet around, you'll find it useful when putting the screw covers on.The one small issue I had was this: the second part in the instructions is misleading (see picture). Basically, when you're installing the mount to the bottom of the seat, make sure that the tilt adjustment knob is facing toward the front--in fact, the word "front" is stamped on the mount itself. I started installing it correctly until I let the instructions convince me to do it the wrong way, then saw the stamp and went back to the right method--pretty much every office chair I've seen has the tilt adjustment toward the front, and this chair is no exception.Hopefully this review will prevent that from happening to anyone else, because despite that little detail I really feel like this chair would be a reasonable value at double the price. Of course, we'll see if it stands the test of time :)

Excellent product , very well made, easy assembly . You will most likely need a allen wrench, screwdriver style.It comes with a allen key style wrench,however not very useful .

No instructions included, which at first I thought was no problem as assembly seemed pretty straightforward. However, when I tried to connect the chair back to the arms, the screws were not long enough to connect the bottom of the chair back to the bottom hole on the chair arm. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the screws were actually two different lengths, but VERY close to each other in length--no more than 1/4" difference. I removed all screws already installed and tried using the longer screws to install the arms to the back, but even the longer ones were not long enough... they maybe threaded one or two rotations into the socket, but that was not enough to secure them in place, as they immediately snapped out of place when I went to install the screws on the upper hole of the arm to the upper hole on the chair back.

I should have read all the reviews. I could not attach the back of the chair to the arm rests because the screws provided are too short to reach the recessed threads in the back of the chair. Too make matters worse, there is no way to contact the manufacturing company and Amazon says that this item is NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS! Unbelievable! Now I am stuck with a brand new, worthless chair. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR OR ANY OTHER ITEM FROM THIS COMPANY (MAGTEC).

So far, so good. My husband and I both bought one. I put a pillow in the "slot" in the back for a big of padding, my husband prefers his naked. The flip-arms are great!
