The perfect stovetop espresso maker!
This is a perfect product: heavy, stainless, elegant, efficient, durable. It's everything we hoped it would be.The coffee it makes is strong and delicious. And it's much easier to clean than the cheap aluminum Italian product because 1) it has a silicon washer that can’t be perforated by coffee grounds and 2) it’s two metal filters are removable. Just in case, I bought spare washers that arrived a couple weeks after the coffee maker. Inside the package was a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase and wishing me well. As my mother might have said, “Now that’s Classy with a capital C!”.

Very Well Finished Product Build-Wise
Updates:1) I moved and forgot I had coffee grounds in this for two weeks. No signs of rust or anything in the water chamber or any other part & it came nicely clean.2) The espresso from this is very good!3) The handle broke off! This is likely my fault. I probably put too much pressure on it when unscrewing it. (it can be difficult to unscrew) - I still use it though; I hope to get the handle welded back on in the future.I haven't actually used it yet, but during the initial inspection, I found the quality of the build to be fantastic. It seems to be a "for-life" item (other than parts that will need replacing in the future (like the rubber gasket). I am always so skeptical of purchasing items over the internet because I really try to thoroughly inspect everything I purchase. I was pleasantly surprised at this item when it arrived. It appears to be fully stainless steel other than obvious things like the rubber gasket and pressure release valve. I will update the review accordingly, if I notice any signs of rust or if the "espresso" from this isn't anything other than what I expect from a Moka-type pot.

Delicious coffee!
I just received my new Début coffeemaker and made my first cup. It was delicious -- just what I needed! And simple to use. Since I'm working from home during the pandemic and I seldom go out, I wanted to treat myself with some homemade espresso..For a long time, I've been making pour-over coffee. But the results varied. One day I'd make a great cup of coffee, but the next day it was almost tasteless. I figured that buying an espresso pot might solve this issue. But it took me a long time to choose the right one. I didn't like the idea of making coffee in an aluminum pot, so I wanted stainless steel. The reviews on this coffeemaker were really good, even though I'd never heard of the brand. So I took a chance and ordered the "6-cup" version.Like everyone else noted, it's pure stainless steel, and feels solid in your hand. I rinsed it out, added water to the base (ensuring it was below the safety valve), ground some beans, and put the grounds in the filter. Then put it on low heat and waited till I heard a gurgling sound (when it finished). The end result was a warm and flavorful cup of coffee that didn't taste watered down after adding coffee creamer. I'm so glad I bought this! Someone mentioned that they bought extra rubber seals from this seller -- good idea!

Two for Two
The first pot had a warped lid. The lid seemed thin when contrasted to the overall nice build quality. The replacement pot had two issues: top half would not attach (fasten fully). And, the coffee basket/funnel was firmly stuck (non-removable). This one was also returned. Two for two was enough.

A GREAT stainless moka pot!!
It' s taken me a bit to write this review because I wanted to put this through its paces a little. First, this is SOLID. No noticeable seams or coating on the pot itself, or any of the elements. We've now used this probably 60+ times and it works great, as good as our aluminum Bialetti that we've stopped using because of the potential contamination from the pot itself. Also, the steel heats up fast so if you're in a hurry and not looking for crema on the top of your espresso, you can turn the heat up and it is ready in a matter of minutes. Be careful positioning the handle, since it is also stainless and can get hot, but on our gas range I can usually place it so the handle only gets warm. Also, don't be put off by the shipping times. This said it would take months to arrive (I wound up getting my wife. different birthday present because I didn't think it would arrive in time) but it actually arrive within two weeks of ordering.I know this is based on the old Italian design for the stainless moka pot from some well-known manufacturer that went out of business a few. years ago and it shows. Most of the other pots seems to either have seams or coatings, or just be poorly made. That is not the case here. If you're looking for a stainless moka pot, this is more than worth the money.

Really nice
This is a beautiful expresso maker. My only beef and thus the 4 stars is the rubber gasket. Ok, so you got this thing that is stainless steel that will last like forever, but it has a rubber gasket that is probably not going to last past the first year. Without the gasket, it's a useless expresso maker. Luckily you can get replacement for the gasket. Also bought the manual coffee grinder. Works pretty well together. Made my first expresso coffee today. The taste is so different and so much better than the instant coffee I have been drinking. Now I know why my friends insist on grinding their own coffee. I did not start drinking coffee until 4 years ago and I am 52 years old.
