Kingston Brass DTT5302A0 Made to Match Easy Touch Toe-Tap Conversion, Tub Drain Kit, Matte Black

After a full bathroom remodel I rinsed out the tub and wiped it clean. The very first time I got this tub stopper wet and wiped it, the black finish came off! Waste of money!

I bought the brushed nickel drain kit. Apparently, in an effort to make this more universal (possibly metric and US imperial sizes), the all-metal drain part is fitted with a cheap nylon thread spacer (jacket) so it can be used on two dran pipe sizes. IT STRIPS! I made sure it was not cross threaded, but when I tightened it down to to compress the rubber gasket, it stripped the nylon jacket, turning freely in the drain with no way to ensure it won't leak. That is completely idiotic! Tough PVC drain pipe? Check. Metal drain insert? Check? Cheap nylon spacer? What the heck? The spacer should be metal or there should be no need for a spacer at all since all US drains have used the same diameter threaded pipe for at least 3 decades. Update: I tested the pop-up drain valve and IT DOESN'T CLOSE THE DRAIN. Water constantly flows down the drain wither the stopper is up or down. I am returning this. JUNK! DO NOT BUY!

Make sure you liberally apply some plumber's putty to the washer and threads of the drain (and order the correct size, as there is 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 are the two most common size). I neglected this step the first install, and found that without putty or plumbers' tape that it would in fact leak (which you won't see unless you have access to the underside of your tub like I did- and which is a tip more for first time do-it-yourself plumbers, rather than experienced homeowners). This includes a plastic "enlarger" which can screw on the threads of the smaller size, so it's a two-for-one. I wished they offered a set that included the two holed overflow drain, but it includes an adapter to make it work. The adapter is a little short width-wise though, so using some metal washers to ensure proper hold would be best, otherwise it might slip to the left or right. Overall good quality, but know that if you're ordering the entire Oil Rubbed Bronze set for your tub/shower, the "plastic" Moentral/Delta shower plate/knob set is a noticeably lighter shade than the metal pieces, but altogether this is a nice, quality, substitute for the budget minded who don't wish to spend hundreds of dollars on Moen/Delta pieces.

Replaced our master tub drain with this, to match the finishes. Our first package only arrived with one piece. The second arrived with both. After about a month, all the black finishing has worn off (in areas where it’s not even touched). Not sure why something made to go in a bathtub isn’t more water resistant... it’s almost like it’s just spray painted black and flakes right off. I would recommend spending a bit more so you don’t have to replace it after a month.

Paint came out the drain in less than a week !!! Now to change it after the walls and finish have been done will be an unnecessary headache. Don't waste your time or $ buying this. It looks really nice and gives you tub a nice pop ! though like I said, give it a week of use and the paint chips off and it begins to have a rust color! Horrible and thieves !

Very low quality and feels cheap. Just installing the center screw the black finish flaked off without much pressure applied. The package doesn't come with the 2 screws you need for the mounting hardware so be prepared to supply your own. Installation was otherwise easy. Looks nice from a distance, but definitely won't stand the test or time or use. I'd look elsewhere.

The drain will not seal so you can not fill the tub - In order for it to seal you have to hold it down. Can't take a bath and hold the drain at the same time -- not a good design so we are looking for something else.

I love the look, but the stopper works half of the time. Sometimes it doesn't plug the tub. We have not found a reason why it works sometimes and not other times. It makes me feel that there is something defective on it. I would not recommend it since it isn't consistent. Not worth any money if you cant count on it working. I will have to replace it, but my husband said it was difficult to install and doesn't want to replace it at this time.

after just a couple months of (light) use the coating is completely coming offand ti's not because of the water because i'm not linked to the city water that's full of sheet, i'm on a well with almost perfect mountain water.it's also not my cleaning products: i don't use any, i only rinse the bath with water and sponge residues off.that is ADDED to the fact that the pop-up function does not work well, half the time it fails and does not open or close.disappointed.i do not recommend you buy this.specially since the price of ''colored'' fittings (other than standard, old boring silver) always costs extra $$$

Bought this fitting a little over a year ago and are disappointed to say it has not lasted. It still functions OK, it never totally sealed and has always allowed a bit of water to pass. But that’s not the real problem. The matte black finish has deteriorated and is now showing brass through. It started about 6 months ago and is now really looking bad. Decent functioning product but finish does not stand up the test of time

After havent the product installed for about 6 months the paint or coveting they use started to peel off. Now we are faced with having to buy another one! i wouldnt recomend this product to anyone. horrible product.

Changed all of the bathroom fixtures in our cottage to black. This drain replacement was easy to install and matches the Moen faucets perfectly. Finish is great. Very happy with this purchase. For cheaper than buying the brand name version and works just as well.

We installed this new tub drain for a bathroom renovation and it lasted for about one month before the black finish started lifting and flaking off. Would not recommend.
