Academy Analog Bathroom Scale for Body Weight, Non-Slip

I had a digital scale that was so touchy, if you moved wrong it would show an error reading. This scale is a regular scale, weighs very accurately with none of the issues I had with a digital. It is very sturdy, well made, and very accurate!!! Built to last a lifetime. I highly recommend it!!!

Had this scale only a few days. But its accurate, followed the instructions to calibrate it and it was right on for both my wife and me. Nothing has fallen off. I'd say its well made. Numbers are large and easy to read. Which is great. Hard to believe it's this good after some of the negative reviews. I bought this scale because its mechanical, no batteries, no digital. If that's what you want I'd say its a good buy. Yes, its big but we had no problem finding a place for it on the floor of the bathroom.

Needle sticks and never swings back to zero; doesn't give repeatable measurements. This is a large and ugly scale, I knew that but was willing to sacrifice for a mechanical scale that would give an accurate measurement without the false precision of a digital one. Nope, there's a five-pound range from one step to the next because the mechanism sticks. Not useful. Even if I zero it every time it doesn't give a consistent weight.

This scale seems to weigh very accurately and I don't need my glasses when reading the weight. I just wish it was made out of metal instead of plastic. It looks good, but has cheaper feel to it. One advantage to an analog vs. digital scale is that you can stand on it for as long as you need too to get an accurate reading. A digital scale seems to lock in too soon and will often give a very inaccurate reading, but not this one. And this one doesn't require batteries!

Nice big numbers, easy to read. Sadly. No one wants to know the truth when you a bit "fluffy." I should have gotten one with smaller print, I would likely feel better once I got off it. It's like the big numbers are just screaming at me! (like all caps in an email) I sense such anger when I step on it (and then tears from me). So while it seems accurate and works well (dang it) it isn't very nice, it is brutally honest and won't sugar coat the truth!! So if you want to SEE what you really weigh, I would buy this, but if you prefer to not know the truth, by a scale with teeny tiny font and then you can fool yourself into thinking you weigh less!

I have had a digital scale for several years. It works OK, but I got tired of having to change the batteries even though I don't use it that often. Also, to turn the scale on you had to step on then off and wait for it to come on. When the last battery I had in it finally died I decided I wanted to go back to a mechanical scale. First and foremost, the scale seems to be accurate. It was within a pound of what my digital scale showed I weigh (180 lbs). I also took four 5 lb weights and stacked them one at a time onto the scale. At the 5 pound mark it was off about a little less than a pound, at 10 lbs it was off by less than half a pound, but at 15 and 20 lbs it was exactly on. I'm sure the slight inaccuracy at the very low weights was just due to normal "looseness" in the system that it takes a few pounds of pressure to get out. Since this scale isn't really meant for weighing those low weights anyway I would say it is a non-issue. The construction seems pretty good. It feels solid enough and nothing on it looked flimsy. Where you stand is covered with a material that provides some decent grip, however I wish it was a little more rubberized and provided even a little more grip, though this is a small complaint. If you need to adjust the scale to zero it out the adjustment dial is on the top right at the bottom of the dial face. The scale has both pounds and kilograms, which is one feature I wanted since my wife is from Asia and prefers kg. This scale is somewhat large compared to many of the digital scales and does take a little bit of room, but is still small enough to fit under most sinks or in a closet with ease. Please take note that the product pictures above vary slightly. The product description says it is for weights up to 330 lbs and the very first picture has 330 lbs as one full turn of the dial. It also has no weights marked for use on the second turn of the dial. If you look at the third and fourth product pictures it shows a slightly different markings on the dial and you can see it says "Max 400 lbs" on the dial face. You can also see it has weights marked for use on the second turn of the dial (after it goes one full turn) up to 400 lbs (which the first picture does not have). I received the latter one that goes up to 400 lbs so it looks like the product may have been updated, but the product description is lagging behind.

Salter is a great brand of scales. I have a couple of their kitchen (ounce, grams) scales and they all work perfectly. The Salter 200, however, works, but it is hard to read in between the main measurements; for example, I weigh 185lbs, so I have to read between the 180 and 200 readings, which can be a pain, specially if you're tall. I had to literally, stand, then bend forward and down to be able to read where the needle stops. If you move the scale, meaning, if you don't keep it on one spot at all times, you MUST reset it to zero every time, before you weigh yourself. There's a dial/knob under the the zero position, which you must turn either left or right, to get the needle to the zero position. The scale is weel made, sturdy and wide, so stepping on it feels right. The viewing window is plastic. The scale is quite big as well, if you're used to electronic scales, then I would not recommend this one. The Salter 200 is about 4 inches tall and packs some weight. As for accuracy. I found it to be about + or - 2lbs off target. I tested it against 2 other scales, which both gave the same weight, but the Salter was always off. I can't recommend this one, mostly based on how difficult it can be to read. If you can get pass that and the 2lbs off, then by all means, get it, this is well constructed piece, but those are all the good aspects I can think of.

It was time to me to start keeping track of my weight. Simply going by how I looked in the mirror or how my clothes fit wasn't really working for me. It was time to get a bathroom scale. I wanted something that had excellent build quality, something that was low maintenance, and something that was consistently accurate. I began my research looking at various digital scales. Those things a thin, they are pretty, and the readouts are quite easy to read. The problem is that I read accounts of weight innacuracies, problems calibrating the unit, and the endless supply of batteries need to run it over a lifetime. I had forgotten about the analog alternative and decided to give them a look. That is when I ran across this Salter unit. I really love this scale. It is very accrurate, it is a simple design, it is easy to calibrate, and best of all doesn't require any batteries. My only problem with this unit is with the aesthetics. It looks a bit clinical. I had seen instances of this scale in black but I wan't able to locate them. Second it's kind of bulky. It will take up a lot of space in your bathroom, but if you have a larger bathroom that shouldn't be a problem. Overall I am very happy with this scale. It is a simple design that is very accurate all the time and I'll never have to feed it batteries.

Works good like the fact it has no batteries to replace. Seems to be pretty accurate only downfall is the dashes are kinda hard to see down to the exact pound. Nice looking

Please read the reviews before buy the product. That's why the single star. The machine looks good but the scales were way off. By near about 6 kgs. No, I did not put on that much weight during the lockdown. I did compare my weight with another in my Condo gymn that has been accurate for the last 6 years. There is a calliberation issue. Maybe I got unlucky and got a bad piece without QC done on it.
