I've loved this since I was a child
Many people in my family are vegetarian, not vegan, and these were our "veggie" burgers when I was a kid. As a single person, I love to be able to make these easily and keep them for sandwiches for the week. They are easy to make, provide protein, and didn't used to be as expensive as meat. That seems to have changed a bit...but I still love them. And am so thankful that they are available all these years later.Looking through the comments, I haven't seen any recipes...well, I thought I'd give you one. Now this does use eggs so it may not fit into your lifestyle. Also, this is my mom's recipe, so the measurements or not terribly precise...use your heart. We've made them far more healthy, but here's the basic...all the way back to at least the 1970s...recipe.Grandma Shari's Veggie BurgeIngredients1 can of Loma Linda Vege Burger4-5 eggs depending on the size of the egg1/2 packet of dried onion soupA couple of squirts of Worcestershire SauceHow To...Put the contents of the can of Vege Burger in a medium-sized bowl (one of those silver ones if you are being authentic) ... break it all up so there aren't any big lumps.Put everything else in there...mix it up. About the eggs, this is going to make a sloppy mixture...but it still should be MOSTLY Vegeburger, so a little more if it's not sloppy enough, a little less if you are losing the vege-burger in the eggs.Put about 2 tablespoons of oil on a pre-heated medium-sized pan,. Drop mixture by large soup spoon size onto pan. Cook 2-4 minutes per side.Move the finished "burger" to a cookie sheet, top with cheddar cheese, (or whatever kind) and put in 250-degree (F) oven while you finish the other "burgers."Then make a sandwich. There are all kinds of ways we've made these...great with tomatoes and those crunchy little cucumbers...but the 8-year-old in me likes a little mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish.I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did and does.

Love the shelf stability
For years I was purchasing the bagged ground vegan beef. it took up room in the freezer and would always fall out upon opening the freezer door. These are wonderful!! I've been purchasing Loma Linda products for 5 years now and they are staples in our home .. The ground beef looks like dog food when you open it. It seasons nicely, cooks perfectly and tastes great. My unvegan child approved on this when I used as taco meat and he never approves anything vegan!! :0) Only complaint is that they shrunk the size down and not the price.

I LOVE this! It's already cooked! No fat! Just add to whatever you are making, such as chili or spaghetti sauce or meatloaf or lasagna. EASY PEASY!! Taste GREAT. My ex-meat-eating husband loves it and ask's for it! FIVE STARS!

I got this thinking it'd be great to be able to enjoy a lower fat
I got this thinking it'd be great to be able to enjoy a lower fat, healthier substitute for 'ground beef'. When I opened the can, I wanted to puke because it does, indeed, look like dog food. I tried microwaving it, and forced myself to take a bite and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a very mild flavor (think rice or almost flavorless peas) with just a hint of onion or garlic. I then heated up a skillet with some oil in it, added the vege-burger, some garlic powder, black pepper, cumin, oregano and some mixed cheeses, and fried it all together until the 'meat' was almost burnt, as that's how I like my ground beef and ground turkey. Added a little salt, slapped the mixture on a bun (It holds shape beautifully!) and was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful and filling it is, now.Its own flavor isn't strong, but this means you can make it whatever flavor you like very easily. This would be great for veggie-taco night. The texture is a little softer than meat, but very close, and with the right spices it tastes amazing. I'd definitely buy it again.
