This fan is great... very quiet (if installed properly) and very efficient. I designed and installed one myself using 4" PVC pipe venting from the sump pump pit cover in the basement, through the wall outside where it connects with the RadonAway fan and remaining PVC pipe up the side of the house venting above the roof line. Radon levels dropped from around 4 to 0.3 on my electronic detector. So I have concluded that my radon mitigation system is a success! Everything continues to run smooth and quiet. I'll post updates if anything changes.

My fan on my 7 year old radon system was sounding very loud. I thought I should replace it before it quit altogether. Ordered this (went up on CFM) based on size, it arrived a couple days earlier than expected. It was very easy to install, took less than 1/2 a hour. It is well made and sturdy, like the one that was replaced. I am happy with it and would recommend this seller to others.

Just replaced a $30 year old Radio Fan that sounded like a JET taking off with this one. This unit only comes with bare wires ready to be wired but my old unit was converted to an AC plug. Luckily I was able to remove the old adapter and use it on this unit. Basically its just 3 wires positive, negative (essentially) and ground. Sadly RadonAway saved some cost by not including the grommet that goes in the hole where the cables come out, I used the one from my last unit which also worked perfectly. It just makes it looks nicer and cleaner rather than random wires and wire twists hanging out of the hole.This unit also doesn't come with pipe converters so make sure you get good thick rubber ones to change the size from 6 inches to 4 (in my case). Again my old unit was exactly the same so all the old parts were used with the new one. I also Silicon-ed the crap out of this thing as to prevent leaks etc.

Exact replacement, easy to install, good price

Whatever there is to "like" about a radon mitigation fan, one "needs" it if the radon level is high. I bought this unit to replace a competitor's unit that suffered a bearing failure after 2 weeks of service. The original radon fan from this same competitor had been in service for 22 years. Now, I don't think there is any real difference between this unit and the one that failed--they sure look similar--I think it was just bad luck with the first one. But I wasn't prepared to replace the failed unit with the same model so I ordered this one which has been working well so far. I give it 4 stars because I think the price is higher than what it should be. I paid the higher price because of my bad luck with the cheaper brand.

I replaced an earlier radon-away model that a radon company installed and quit after 5 years. The housing was half the size of this new one and was so noisy I shut it off sometimes! Thrilled with this new one. Can barely hear it. Brought the radon level down from 20 with nothing running to 1.5. Small nit: it would be nice if they offered the rubber hose connectors. Luckily I could use my old ones since I have 6 inch PVC pipe and was unable to source new ones.

UPDATE 9-27-23: I would NOT buy this fan, unless you want to be replacing it again in 3 years! They say you get a 5 year warranty BUT ONLY if you spend more on a professional install than the fan costs! This fan failed in under 3 years and their standard warranty is 12 months. It's not rocket science to have a reliable type fan. Think bathroom exhaust fans. RARELY do you have to change those. Now I have to crawl back up into my attic to change out a fan that should of lasted at least 5 years!10-15-20: The house we bought had a Radon fan installed but it wasn't working. One of the customer reviews said this would be a direct replacement for my old fan. Thankfully it was. Just had to remove the old fan and installed the new one. There was no cap on the black pipe going through the roof so I had to add a cap to keep water from going into the fan.Very happy with purchase!
