BRS Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Genetics is an excellent aid for USMLE Step 1 preparation and for coursework in biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics. Fully updated for its sixth edition, chapters are written in an outline format and include pedagogical features such as bolded key words, figures, tables, algorithms, and highlighted clinical correlates. USMLE-style questions and answers follow each chapter and a comprehensive exam appears at the end of the book. Review: Rich Color Pictures and Comprehensive for NBME Subject Exam - Great study resource: 9/10 While a select few examples could be updated or edited to be easier to understand this book was a great resource as I prepared for the NBME subject exam on Biochem and Genetics. Great questions at the end as well as a practice test that is somewhat representative of what I saw on the real exam. Overall I thought that the end of chapter questions were more similar in caliber to the real test than the practice test, but that is just my opinion on the matter. What I really liked about this book was the great color pictures it has and level of detail that it goes into. As far as topics go, it covered all that I needed to know to do well on the subject exam. Review: Very concise book covering molecular biology and genetics - If you want a more thorough yet concise enough review book for medical Biochemistry, go for LIR. If you want one with broad coverage of molecular biology and genetics and does not want to purchase a textbook for the topic, go for BRS Review. This book is more on genetics and molecular biology. I like the point-form arrangement of the book which makes reading easier. Moreover, there are abundant multiple choice exercises behind each chapter with answers, facilitating students' learning of the subject. This book is not very thick, but I'm sure it'll be quite useful.

good for extra questions
I preferred the recommended text and questions from the professor. This is a nice addition, but not a main source.

It had alot of information, but there were several topics covered in lecture which were not even addressed in this book. I know BRS doesn't guarantee that all possible BCHM topics will be covered, but I was frustrated by this.

Great book to study biochemistry
This is a very nice book of biochemistry, it’s a review book but you can also use it as textbook, because it is so clear and fluid and also quite large. Covers all topic for NEET to step 1. Where the book falls behind is it’s limited number of MCQs.

Nice and quick
A very good book and a quick review before your final exam- can easily be completed in under a week with around 200 pages of actual information (excluding questions)

Nice Book
The content of the Book is good. But i have got a black&white version. It would be more interresting to study the book if it were colouring version.
