Thetford StorMate Broom - Extendable and Collapsible Broom for RV/Marine/Home use 36772

I bought this compact broom for my frequent camping excursions, to sweep out my 10' x10' tent at the end of my outing. This broom has not worked since the first time I used it. It has a telescoping pole which is supposed to be adjustable. Well the pole extends BUT the tension rings don't tighten so the broom retracts as I sweep or it all comes apart. I did not want to have to get on my hands and knees to sweep out my tent but that is the only way I can use it. My return window had expired when I finally used it so I got stuck with it. Good idea. Bad execution.

I've only used this broom several times and it's flimsy, it doesn't stay together, it bends and the broom keeps folding in on itself. It's garbage...a waste of money!

I love the concept here. I was especially attracted to the telescoping handle for easy storage in the RV. The broom bristles fold in too for compact storage. Great idea; not well executed though. Have only used on 2 RV trips and it's all come apart. The handle is very wobbly at the connection points. I'll need to get an old fashioned whisk broom instead.

I bought this broom to clean up around whatever station I am assigned for the day, I work at Amazon. The broom does the job, but two things: 1) it's not as sturdy as I'd like, it tends to bend in the middle, probably because of the foldability of the broom handle; 2) while it does fold up, the part of the broom with the brand name doesn't fold up, so it sticks out of my bag that I take to work every day. When I saw the box it came in, I knew it wouldn't fit in the bag properly, sight unseen. One day recently, I was using the broom and suddenly the handle just came apart in my hands, then the top part just broke off! Why, I don't know, but I managed to get it back together. I'm going to have to be more gentle with it, I guess.

This will be our fourth Stormate Broom. It works extremely well EXCEPT that eventually the telescoping handle will fail partially. So we expect to have to buy a new one each season for our Airstream. It is light and easy to handle, but it sure would be nice if they could fix this one fault.Last season we tried a competitor's broom, but its telescoping handle failed even more quickly, so right now, Thetford's is the best we've been able to find.

I bought this broom for our small camper trailer and liked the design for storing in a small space. It arrived today and one side of the bristles that is supposed to fold out is so floppy that it won't lock in place like the other side. When you retract the pole to full size, it's so cheaply made that it bends as you're using it and will undoubtedly not last beyond a few camping trips. I wasn't needing a top-of-the line broom or anything, but this is truly a piece of junk.

Like, *really* flimsy.• Top cap fell off during first demo sweep and could not be reattached because the single drop of glue to hold it in place broke loose.Imagine this being the biggest piece of junk... then double that. At $15, it is overpriced by $14.99. This really should be removed from Amazon offerings.Nuff said.

This is a very nice broom, useful for camping. I need one that is small to transport - it collapses to about 27" long - but telescopes to a full-length broom for use (it's 50" when extended). It even has an attached mini dust pan. It seems to be a good all-around broom. I would recommend it.Careful, though: Amazon is shipping more and more by USPS and it (the USPS) has started delivering my packages to my driveway, by the sidewalk, far from my house. I live in a good neighborhood and so far there hasn't been any problem with packages being stolen. But, it is only a matter of time, even in my neighborhood...it's too much temptation. I wonder what the USPS's liability is on lost packages.

I have owned one of these brooms for 10 years and loved it. Sadly, it was time to replace my old one with a new one. The first Thetford broom I ordered as a replacement is in the photo. That was upon my first attempt at sweeping my floor, it didn’t last 30 seconds. I assumed this was faulty and returned for another. This time I special ordered it from an RV dealership. Upon it’s arrival I opened it at the dealership only to discover it was just as faulty as the one I returned. The 2 sales reps I was dealing with couldn’t believe it and instantly refunded my money. If I could rate this product, I would give it a -5 star rating. Very disappointed!

This was recommended through a RV website. Do not waste your money. Tried to return immediately and the price to ship was as much as broom. Gave the broom a try and the telescopic handle came out with no stop mechanism. The folding bristles do not lock into place as described and the dustpan does not stay attached when stored. Would have been better off spending my money at the dollar store.

Tiny dustpan; poor quality; overpriced

The gears inside the telescopic handle broke the fifth time I used it. The handle is not strong enough, quite fragile for a broom. I do not recommend this broom.
