STOP SHOPPING ELSEWHERE - the cultured food items you're looking for are here!
I purchased this product on a whim, not knowing what to expect (as I am new to the whole cultured food world). I have to say I am wildly, pleasantly surprised! The milk kefir grains have already produced 3 batches of delicious beverage. I just sucked down my first bottle of water kefir and have another batch brewing up at home. And the SCOBY, let me tell you - this is one area where size does not matter. My SCOBY is small but mighty! It's brewing away in my dining room and growing a fine little baby.Initially I bought a SCOBY from a different retailer on Amazon (I won't name names, but it's a BIG kombucha presence on the web). I can tell you without reservation that after finding this gem of a retailer, I won't ever go back to the Big Lady for my kombucha SCOBY purchases. I posed a question to the Big Lady that, to this day, hasn't been answered. Yet, Posey Mom responded to my inquiry within an hour or so.If you're a newbie like me, or an old pro, I bet that you will not be disappointed with these products or the retailer!UPDATE 8/22/20014I have just bottled my first brew of kombucha and all I can say is "YUM!" It is PERFECT! Bubbly, sweet with a tiny bit of tang. Love it. And stand by my original statement: I will stick with this seller for all of my cultured food & beverage needs! :)

Excelent Specimens
Love this! I was looking everywhere for grains grown in raw milk, and it comes with a scoby and water grains to boot! The milk grains were *extremely* healthy, and grew very well. The kefir came out much better than kefir I was making from grains I bought elsewhere. When comparing them this one tasted better too. I ended up killing my grains from neglect after several months so I'll be ordering from here again soon. I can't recommend this highly enough! *Update* I came to order this again, but the price had DOUBLED! Seriously? I'll have to find a less expensive alternative somewhere else. =(

The milk kefir grains are working great! The scoby was small and thin but it seems to be growing a baby so yay! I am leaving my first batch longer to make sure a full baby is formed. The water kefir I am having trouble with...I will need to double check on that those. But so far so good!!! :)

Survived shipping in 7 degree weather to Ohio and are producing like crazy!
I spent 2x this on another major vendor (Cultures 4 Health) for just kefir grains and I could not get them to produce and survive. I had given up on producing my own probiotic beverages. Even though it is freezing out, I decided to try one more time. The price was inexpensive for all three cultures. I could not be more thrilled. They were very cold when they arrived but all three cultures are now producing like crazy. I received twice as many kefir grains than the other supplier. Within a very short time all of them had doubled in size. I am so proud of my kombucha scoby that is only about 2 weeks old. My baby grew to an amazing 9 inch diameter by 1/4 inch thick(which was in a two gallon glass jar) from a mason jar sized mother scoby. At first I wasn't sure the baby was forming on top; it had a weird, splotching looking growth on top the jar. I'm so glad I didn't give up or throw it out. I now have the original mother in a green tea batch and my baby is solo in the black tea jar! Forget the expensive websites, two thumbs way up for price, quality, quantity, and viability of the cultures!

very little scoby
Keep in mind, if you are used to making Kombucha tea in a gallon jar: this is a very little scoby - like 2 1/2 inches in diameter. It will take an extended first time brew to grow a culture the size of your container. Then you will be off and going. I may have missed in the write up that it was just a little guy. - and barely enough tea in the bag to start a new batch. I knew time would fix both , so ok.

Good deal, but...
The skoby was thin and around the size of a large mason jar. It was a great price for the organic trio, however. Will recommend.

It Works :)
Well, being new to this culture stuff I tried doing everything wrong at first. My kitchen looks like a science lab; white stuff, brown stuff, orangery tan stuff growing everywhere. There it is the big Word "growing" I printed all the instructions, referred to them lots and sure enough it grew and grew and it's a good thing too. I've got three gallons of Kombucha growing and a line waiting for it to get done. The milk kefir is a hit also just lots faster making more. The water kefir not as big a hit so the little seeds are resting in the fridge. This new addition to our diets has been a very positive experience, the instructions easy to follow with explanations for why it looks weird don't panic. I did have to stock up on jam, stir a little into extra curds umm good
