DA VINCI 18 inch Leatherette Backgammon Set with Beautiful Old World Map Design

Update: June 2017 This is the second time I am buying this exact board. I originally bought one a few years ago as a gift. Needed one for the beach house and knew I would now be treating myself w a terrific quality board. Great price. Nice size. Great quality inside with the felt & all pieces. Would recommend! I bought this as a gift for my aunt. It is very pretty & elegant looking. Large game/case. Well made & the map on the outside of the case is unique & makes it have a vintage feel. Would recommend buying.

I love the world map on the case. When I bought this 5 years ago it appeared to be the best quality for the price. I was right. It's held up great and still looks like new after hundreds of plays. Just make sure you don't leave it in the car on a hot day in direct sun; it melted some of the glue holding the felt to the case and now it has some ripples. If you haven't tried Backgammon it's easy to learn two player game, but every game is still exciting and keeps you coming back for more.

Great size to play across the table from someone and the quality is Great. Nice size bones and dice throw evenly and LOVE the case design Soo Nice!

I have tried to find a quality backgammon set locally but to no avail, after searching the web I came back to my old stand-by, Amazon.com and once again I found a quality product that was as advertised at a reasonable price. I woulld reccomend this product to anyone looking for a gameboard made to last, oh and it looks great too.

I'd played backgammon as a kid with my father and really wanted to teach my children the game. I'd not played in 30 years so I had to get familiar with the game but overall this is a nice set. It's held up well to grade and middle school child use and we tend to play a couple times a week. I like the feel of the chips and the dice cups seem to hold up well. The only grip I'd have is the pamphlet that comes with the game explaining the rules is a photocopied sheet of paper that's hard to read. I simply printed out a better sheet off the internet and put that in with the kit. That allows the kids to play on their own and resolve any questions about the rules or set-up. I'd certainly buy this game again.

The chips are like we remember growing up - thick and big. The felt lined board and cups are nice. We like that it latches closed. Trying to find a large board is difficult, we like the size of this board. We were worried the dice would be too small, they are fine. We thought we would be bummed about the lack of leather stitching on the board - it is fine and you get what you pay for. It is a beautiful board and we like it. We played for hours last night and were surprised at the price. We had returned a different board purchased at a chain book store that was overpriced with terrible plastic parts and a small board. We are picky. We are keeping this one.

As all the other reviews promise, a gorgeous backgammon set. It was much better than I expected. I have a hard time believing online reviews so I always expect less. This purchase proved that belief to be invalid. We (my wife and I) looked all over the major shopping stores and small toy shops in Atlanta and found nothing to be of value in the backgammon world. Junk after Junk ranging from $12 to $40. The two items we thought might be Ok were worse than we expected once we took it out of the package. After returning the second game we decided to spring a few more dollars and try this. We are so pleased and did I mention how beautiful it is. The best part is I have something nice to look at as she is beating my socks off at our nightly backgammon tournament.

Well made, attractive with good color scheme and graphics. A good value!

Terrific set. Bought the new fancy box to teach my wife. She's never played before. I must be a good teacher - she's killing me!!!!!!!

Larger pieces don't help me win the game but I love it just the same. My only complaint is that sometimes the pieces in the rack prevent the cover from closing completely.
