What is the difference between the v11 torque and the v11 animal?

In the US, the V11 Torque Drive includes the Mini Soft Dusting Tool, NOT the soft roller brush. You can see this, and the difference in the display, at the Dyson site.

My V11 stopped working today, zero power and lights don't turn on when it is plugged in. I was told they will be sending me a replacement batter in 7-10 business days for free as it is under the 1 year warranty. I was told that certain serial numbers had "bad batteries" and mine was on the list. Worked fantastic up until today. So long as the new battery does the trick for my machine, I will continue to be a very happy V11 owner. I will update once I have the new battery.

Do you still have to hold the trigger down for it to run or is there an on/off switch? Thats been the only thing preventing me from buying a one.

The "only thing" preventing me buying the V11 is the absolutely puzzling decision by Dyson to ship this thing with a single battery and make replacing a battery a 10 minute operation involving hand tools and three screws. What battery powered tool does not have a quick change battery pack in 2019? Answer.....Dyson! So, even if you're willing to buy a second or third battery, it would be unusable That means you're stuck with 10 or 15 minutes of use on anything but hardwood floors or tile. And that makes this thing an overpowered DustBuster for small spills, not a tool to replace a corded vacuum.
