Arnold Lobel Audio Collection

These are cute stories, my kids really enjoyed them. They are the same style as frog and toad stories. One thing to note- if you haven't read them, they do use "dummy" and "idiot" (I think those were the two insults) in one of the stories.

My toddler and preschooler love these stories (as well as the other Arnold Lobel audio cds- mouse tales and frog and toad all year). We keep this cd in the car and the kids ask to listen every time. I hear them repeating the stories throughout the day to themselves. My husband and I are also entertained by the stories- they are not annoying or childish in any way. I think anyone from 1-100 can appreciate these. Arnold Lobel is a great author and his stories all have an everyday concept in them. Cd was in new condition. Shipping was fast. Very happy.

Love Arnold Lobel books. We own the Frog and Toad audiobook collection as well. Purchased that first. It's wonderful with the author reading and the music that accompanies the stories is fitting and enhances the storytelling. While the storytelling of the Owl series (as well as Grasshopper and Uncle Elephant) is very good, we greatly miss the musical accompaniment. That's why I gave this collection 4 rather than 5 stars.

While I absolutely adore the books in this collection, I don't care for this audio version. The production is very 'harsh', very quiet bits and other startlingly loud bits. My kids like listening to audiobooks at bedtime, but they get startled awake by the loud bits if they've fallen asleep before the cd is over.

I put this CD on in the car while driving my granddaughters around. They are between 3 and 9 years old and they all love the stories. I don't even mind listening to the CD.

Stories are a bit “dated”. Didn’t hold up as well as Frog and Toad.

My 6yr old son absolutely loves these stories. I bought this CD collection of stories after he couldn't get enough Frog & Toad stories by the same author. They are nice calming stories to hear at night with a positive outcome.

My children and I love to listen to this recording of stories from Arnold Lobel. The stories are clever, innocent, and so appropriate for children; and yet I love to listen to them too. They talk about friendship and love and teach many good, wholesome things. Arnold Lobel was such a great children's book author. And Mark Linn-Baker makes the stories come alive.

先にOwl at Homeを持っていて、Frog　and ToadのCDがとても良かったので購入しました。Arnold　Lobelの朗読ではないので、期待半分で聞くと・・・音楽もなく淡々と読まれている・・・。正直失敗したと思いました。しかし、涙でお茶を沸かしたり、階段をはしったりする話では豊かな表情で語られており、すすり泣く声や　faster!!に大笑い！私にとってはFrog　and Toadにはかないませんが良いCDでした。Oｗｌの発音も自分が思っていたのと全く違ったのでやはり音源があるっていいなと思いました。速さはややゆっくりでとても聞き取りやすかったです。とにかくowlの可笑しさを文字だけでなく音で体感したかったので満足しています。

OWL at home　は、35年ほど前、アメリカ在住時に出会いました。私も子どもたちも大好きな本です。孫に買ってやれて嬉しいです。
