Channel Vision IR-3001 Single IR Emitter with Confirmation LED

An absolute piece of crap. Does not work. Spend the same amount of money and don't waste the hassle of finding out these cords don't work. Read the recent reviews, THESE ARE ALL FAULTY

Recently my cable company, Comcast, started requiring a Digital Adapter (DTA) for receiving channels. Having an older Series 2 TiVo on my secondary TV as my only connection meant that I now needed to use the DTA box. To change channels on the DTA box through the TiVo requires the use of the IR blaster; this IR Emitter does the trick just right. I have the Emitter taped directly in front of the DTA receiver's IR and there is no guess work when changing channels through them. The only better connection would be a straight serial connection between the two boxes.

I bought two of these a few months ago but just got around to using them. The extra adhesives are a great idea and the units work just fine however, neither of them has a confirmation LED which I thought was the reason I was paying a few extra bucks instead of half the price for a similar item.

Specs say it has mini stereo plug ..it does not...won't work with Comcast convertor box...looking closer at picture it has mono plug..guess you can't trust specs....

I would live to give this a 5 star review because I am very happy with it, but it has a few minor flaws that took it down to a 4. I use these with Universal Remote Control brand equipment, and they work reliably, but with URC equipment the confirmation LED does not seem to work. They are also a little less discrete in appearance as URC flashers, as they stick out further and have a white stripe down the cord. Despite these drawbacks I do prefer them to the URC flashers because the adhesive is of a superior quality. And as I say, they do work reliably.

I bought couple of these IR emitters. Connected the emitters to a Russound multi-zone controller CA 6.4 and the eyes onto a Dish DVR and Samsung Blu-ray player. I did not see the LED blink nor the device receive the IR signal. When I replaced them with IR emitters from three other companies and they all worked fine. I was mighty pissed as I wasted 3 hours debugging my setup thinking the issue is with my setup not the IR emitters.

Bought this for my parents awhile ago and just found out that they tried to use it but it would never work for them.Yes, they plugged it in properly but of course they just threw it away so I'm not able to return it.

I purchased this when my Tivo remote stopped controlling my satellite receiver. It works great. I like the little sticker that comes with it to stick right on the receiver. great price.
