BLOWN’ AWAY!!!! IN MY DODGE RAM PICKUP
A1!!! After having this monster since 2019, it is now 2025 and she still never disappoints. During the sub freezing temperatures of every winter and sweltering heat of every summer of the years past, this amp is better than anything I’ve ever purchased besides another Rockford Fosgate amp I’ve had in the past on their prime. To add a cherry to the top of this already delightful Sunday I recently purchased a PLC2 punch control knob and it has unleashed so much more power to this already beautiful amplifier. If you do not choose this amplifier whatever amplifier you go with, if it has a remote bass port or any remote level port to adjust output level on the fly will unleash more power from your amp in any situation. Just so you know your amp is not at the fullest potential if something else can increase the level more then it’s primary output. Don’t know what took me so long to figure that out.Ps…the PLC2 remote for this model is NOT available on Amazon. To be fair this model is an older model now.

PLENTY OF POWER!
I used the P1000X5 in a 2000 Trans/Am WS6 convertible to replace the 8 channel monsoon amp. The car has four 2 ohm woofers which sound like they have a midrange speaker and also 4 tweeters Used the high pass on all that and put some bass blockers on the tweeters for now. Customer had a box with 2 12's but it sounded horrible. I had a new dual 4 ohm voice coil Bazooka 12 laying around so I put that in to get it going so the sub channel is seeing a two ohm load as well. Customer is VERY happy. The car hit a peak 120 DB with the clip light occasionally blinking only on the sub output. The front and rear channels are turned down and make the factory speakers sound great. Even with the top down the car still has a lot of bass. The amp does get warm but I don't think it would shut down unless you were playing the unit very loud for a long time. It never got extremely hot however even though I was running it at high volume for awhile checking it out. In the real world clean sound above 85 db is very loud and this amp will pull that off with ease with ZERO strain or effort. For extra free cooling, raising the amp bottom an inch from the mounting surface makes them run cooler. I did that with an old school Zeus series 7 that does run hot. Anyway, everyone was very impressed with the sound..Will be putting a Rockford P3 12 in the Bazooka Tube as soon as he blows the Bazooka 12.. Both the P2 and 3 sound ALOT better than the Bazooka 12 and with the P3 you don't have to worry about people blowing the woofer. I have a Trans/Am coupe and will be putting one of these in it soon. The old Zeus series 7 dims the lights WAY too much..can't play it very low at all at night with out people flashing lights back at me. The Zeus is only running on JL 10 W6 DV.. The rockford 1000 does not use anywhere near the amperage.ZERO engine noise with the Pioneer head unit and center point grounding.

Perfect
This was the perfect amp to finish my set up. It replaced 2 other amps I was using (3 technically if you count the one I burned up). I can go bigger and louder if I want to with this amp but my sound is perfect the way it is. I'm running two 12" Rockford fosgate Punch Dual voice coils and 4 PP4 pro 6.5 in my 2024 Nissan Sentra SV

Justifiably Expensive
UPDATE #2: It has been almost FIVE years everyone and this amp is still going strong! Please give Rockford Fosgate the attention they deserve!UPDATE: 2 years later and this amp is still going strong. I live near the coast in South Carolina. It gets extremely hot here and I don’t have any type of air circulation going to this amp but it hasn’t caused me a single problem. Worth every single penny! This amp, when ran with a 1 ohm subwoofer, will easily exceed its rated output by 400 watts. I have a ported P3 12 in a Rockford enclosure prewired to 1 ohm as my sub that’s easily getting 700 watts. Inside the car is 2 power 1 inch tweeters, 2 power 6.5s in the front doors, and 2 power 3 way 6x9’s in the rear. I can’t listen to the volume at 3/4th without blowing the ears apart. There’s two big things I want to point out as huge positives for me. The front, rear, and sub channel all each have a light indicator for when you’re reaching the peak output on your gain setting. My current set up is 70hz front high pass, 60 hzs to the rear high pass, and 80hz low pass to the P3. It really allows you to get absolutely every watt possible out of each channel. My 2nd positive is the current draw. I have all of this in a 2004 Corolla with a standard battery and alternator. I don’t experience any light dimming, any shut offs, or really any indicator at all that there is a strain on the car, driving or parked. Rockford Fosgate continues to prove to me that their products are superior. When I crank it all the way up, I can’t hear the wind coming in the windows going 70. I HIGHLY recommend this amplifier. The 12’ Punch P3 hits like a 15’ with twice its magnet size. 5 stars.
