Very solid construction. The optics are very good for what we use it for. The boom gives a lot of options for how to position the scope. The manual was very generic and didn't seem to cover the exact model we had. We're having a lot of fun looking at most everything we put under it. My only regret is that I didn't get the trinocular scope, which would have allowed me to take photos.

I bought this product for my engineering lab, where light circuit assembly and inspection is performed (down to 0201 sized parts). I have used all the major brands in the past (leica, Bausch /Lomb, Olympus, etc) and this unit performed comparably if not identically with respect to field of view, image quality, eyepiece adjustment, and construction quality/ finish. From a pcb assembly standpoint, this scope is an excellent value and I feel like I got more than I paid for, which is rarely the case when going for lower cost gear.

I have been looking for an affordable microscope for a long time and this one meets with all my expectations. I use it at least once a day for jewelery repair and many other things. I love it!!
