I purchased this 5x8 index card box because I wanted something for larger index cards, and overall I do like it. It is a nice size, it holds a lot, and it has a few thoughtful features that make it more useful than a basic storage box. That said, for the price, I do wish the plastic felt a little heavier and the hinge area seemed more durable. What I like: • Good size for larger 5x8 index cards • Holds up to 500 cards • Nice simple black design • Stackable • Stepped floor design makes the cards easier to access • Special groove in the top of the lid holds a card upright • The lid groove is helpful for hands-free viewing • Useful for recipes, notes, study cards, organizing projects, or reference cards • Nice option if you need a larger card box instead of the smaller standard index card size • Overall, it works well for what I needed Things to be aware of: • It does not come with index cards • It does not come with dividers • I do wish dividers were included, especially since the box holds so many cards • If you are using this for a lot of cards, you will probably want to buy dividers separately • The plastic seems a little thin for the price • The lid is attached by two bendable plastic hinge pieces, not mechanical hinges • Each hinge section is only about 2.5 inches wide • I am not sure how well the hinge area will hold up long-term • I would be careful not to drop it or put too much stress on the lid • For the price, I expected the overall construction to feel a little sturdier Overall: This is a nice 5x8 index card box and I do like several of the features, especially the card-holding groove in the lid, the stepped floor design, and the larger capacity. However, I took off one star because the plastic feels a little light for the price and the bendable plastic hinge design does not seem as durable as I would like. I still like the box and will use it, but I will handle it with some care.

I have had other storage boxes for my index cards but this one took the cake with the slot it has on the top of it to put the card on & it stays upright while I am reading the recipe off it. I am using this as a recipe keeper. It isn't heavy even with the cards in it. And also it is sturdy & isn't wobbly.

Nice big box easy to open can even stack something on top like a recipe card if you use it for that

Very nice recipe box. I appreciate the fact that there is a place to hold your recipe card on the lid of the box.

Very disappointed thought it would be JUST big enough to hold my 4 x 6 recipe cards but so much larger. I realize now that the size was not listed I went by the add to buy the box and 4 x 6 cards together
