Mid range are the frequencies in between the highs(tweeter) and the lows(subwoofer). If you power them with an amp, how it works or how well they work will depend on your settings and how you have the crossovers set.

Will these work in a motorcycle

They would fit, but you probably wont get the best performance while riding as they have no tweeter. You cant hear lower frequencies in the wind.
