I bought this to replace a 5yr old PUR faucet filter that started leaking around the filter cap. It took 5 years to develop that. In my opinion, they last quite a while and these filter assemblies are the best around. - They come with every adapter possible to ensure it will install on your faucet right. - I bought the Chrome'ish one and it matches my faucet and sink perfectly. Much better than the old white one I had. - The filters are probably the best faucet filters you can find. They filter out almost all contaminants, although they won't filter some microbes. NO faucet filter claims that they can filter all those out. - We have decent water but after running it through this filter, the taste is 100% better. Especially after refrigeration. If you're looking for a quality faucet filter system, this is the best around. Just buy it and you will see that it's worth every penny.

I purchased this item in mid August, but decided to wait to write the review to give me some evaluation time with the product. It is now Feb 1st and I have had it for 5 months. I love this system, it was easy to install and I was lucky that my faucet accepted the basic adapter. So far in the 5 months I have had it I have had zero problems with the system. I have not purchased a single bottle of water since I got it. I just put in the third filter, so I got 5 months out of the previous two filters. I live in the metro Houston area and the tap water smells and tastes awful here, but when I sniff the water from my PUR system I cannot discern a smell and the taste is better than the plastic infused taste from some bottled waters. I was buying at least 4 cases of bottled water and purchasing bulk water for cooking. Now that is not very expensive, but it still comes to about $25 a month, which in five months would have cost me $125 plus all the plastic bottles in the landfill since my apt complex does not have a recycling program. The PUR system cost me $35 and the replacement filters were $10 each. So for $55 the system paid for itself in about 2.5 months of use. Plus I just noticed that an Amazon supplier has replacement filters on sale for half priced if you buy six. I am so on that deal...lol. If I had one criticism of the system it is that the filter exchange indicator light will eventually stop working before the system stops working and I am expected to just keep track of when I install the filter so I know when to replace it. While that is not a deal breaker when the time comes I will have to decide whether to buy a new system or do a strict filter exchange every 2 months to avoid the possibility of drinking bad water. I think PUR should correct that.

Purchased as a gift for my dad. He wanted this exact one to replace the one he currently has. Easy to install. Comes with several different connector nuts to fit your spout. Looks modern with the silver finish to match the faucet and appliances. Water comes out tasting fresh and clean.

Although it's stated on the website that the material for stainless steel is metal, I thought the whole housing was going to be sturdy metal. That's not the case. It's the same plastic construction as any other variant. Moreover the stainless steel is not even the type you would expect. One day after installation, the stainless steel has the appearance of chrome now. It has turned yellowish. I would like to return it and get the white color but the filter has been opened and used. Don't spend twice as much getting the stainless steel. It's just cheap plastic with a thin shiny coating on the outside that resembles something metallic.

In the past I've owned the Brita Water (die of thirst while you wait pitcher), and their faucet mount filter. I've also used another off-brand, the name of which I can't remember. THIS PUR SYSTEM however, has proven itself to me. Jackson Mississippi has been in a perpetual water crisis for at least the last 10 years. Boil water notices increased in frequency, low pressure, sludge and all other sorts of problems until finally the City's entire system failed. We are told to boil water (now for 3 minutes instead of 1) and that we can use this water to cook. We can't brush teeth, wash or rinse dishes or water animals unless using boiled or bottled water. I've been boiling water for more than two months. I turn the filter on and wait while my pot fills. Next I bring that water to a boil for at least 3 full minutes turn it off. Finally I put a funnel into my bottle and place a coffee filter in the funnel. A PICTURE IS WORTH MY LIFE. The first picture is empty bottles with funnels that have coffee filters waiting to be filled. In the second picture, the bottle on the left is a bottle of water that has been boiled for three minutes and poured through a coffee filter into the bottle. I forgot to filter the water through the PUR attachment before boiling. The bottle on the right is a bottle of water that was drawn through the PUR filter, boiled and poured through a coffee filter into the bottle. Can you see the difference? YES, PUR FAUCET FILTER SYSTEMS WORK. OUR WATER IS A STATE EMERGENCY NOW AND THIS PROVES WHY I LOVE THE PUR FILTER SYSTEM.

I love Pur water filters and have been using them for years. It was time to replace the old one, I chose this as it matched my kitchen. When it came, imagine my surprise to realize I paid double the price for a stainless steel painted plastic filter mount. While I am perfectly happy with the performance of the unit, charging twice as much for a more popular paint color with no difference in product quality is ridiculous.

I just received this PUR faucet mount system in the mail. First impression: very skeptical of the construction and materials, and, hence, also its ability to filter chemicals as claimed. The system is advertised as Stainless Steel, but beware that it is NOT actually constructed of stainless steel - I find the picture and advertising quite deceiving. I should give some credit to them since they did write "Stainless Steel Style," not "Stainless Steel." The PUR website doesn't write the word, "Style," and so I guess it didn't come to mind to question the material. Additionally, the plastic housing smelled highly of solvents after opening it for the first time (in order to place the filter inside). After it being open for about 15 min now, it smells better. For the plastic in the filter cartridge (that will be in contact with water), if there are to be solvents leaching out, I'd hope that the carbon would filter those out too.. Also, I question the quality control: one piece of evidence is on the filter cartridge where there are visible strings of glue scattered about where interfacing plastic members meet. The filter cartridge doesn't even have the "PUR" logo on it, as is pictured. As a result of all these concerns / issues, I am not sure if this is a knock off product or a real genuine PUR filter system. (Not to mention it is made in China, at least the housing is. Not sure about the filter cartridge.) At this point, I am debating returning the system without even trying it out. Update: I just spoke with PUR directly regarding my questions. The outer housing is plastic with stainless steel coloring because constructing the major part of outer housing with stainless steel would be very expensive, according to the sales representative. The filter cartridge is made of polypropylene and the glue residue is a standard result of their manufacturing process. Also, the system is tested by a third party, NSF, so perhaps it's ok. Also, in their defense, I did just receive some other new plastic based thing I bought and it also smelled of solvents, which is, I guess, expected. Anyhow, I will continue debating on whether to send it back and going with a different brand. (I narrowed down to the PUR system after doing a little research through NSF, EWG and Consumer Reports on filter systems available and their abilities to filter out certain chemicals (that are found in higher concentrations in my public water supply), and was hoping to love this filter too. I was looking for something convenient and that was a step up from water pitchers, and since this is a short term housing situation for me, I wasn't looking for a large under-the-sink kind of system that may be more thorough at filtering out chemicals and a wider range of chemicals, but maybe less convenient to move. I debated between the PUR faucet mount system and the Culligan one. The Culligan system wasn't listed on EWG and, through NSF, it was tested for (or passed tests for - unknown without seeing report results) fewer chemicals as compared to PUR. Convenience-wise, I think either would beat buying reverse osmosis filtered water from Whole Foods for my short term needs. Plus, reverse osmosis filtered water has concerns of its own.) I have purchased PUR water filtration for my faucet for years. Plastic cost just over $20 and I purchased "stainless steel" and got plastic for just over $40. Not worth the extra money if both are plastic. Not sure why it cost twice the money? I wanted something nicer for my brand new house rather than the plastic I usually buy. I was disappointed I paid twice the money & got plastic. Not "stainless steel". I'll stick to the plastic from here on.

Excelente producto. Los aditamentos funcionan perfectamente. Al 3ro quedó!!! Y el agua filtra muy bien. Sin sabor extraño. La luz que indica tiempo de cambio es una excelente ayuda.

Adapters doesn’t work with my tap. They ask on package to call support for extra adaptors and not return product. Terrible support. no response to calls , mails or filing their form. What is the point of it

Ce filtre Pur,vendu 40% plus cher que les autres modèles, par ce qu'il est chromé est un peu cher payé. La description laisse croire qu'il est en métal contrairement aux autres. Mais il est 100% plastique ! Ce qui fait un peu cher la finition chromée. Sinon Ras après un bon serrage et un peu de ruban téflon tout est étanche et il fait le job . Il faut aussi préciser que l'eau filtrée s'écoule 2 fois moins vite )que l'eau directe robinet et pour remplir une gourde ou un théière il faut un peu de patience.

Although I have a standard faucet, the filter did not fit properly and neither of the included adapters fit either. As per the instruction manual included in the packaging, I emailed PUR to ask for a suitable adapter. However, I received an email back saying that these filters "are not intended for sale in Singapore". WTF, I bought it from the official PUR store on Amazon SG! Apart from that, they don't mention it on here, but the instruction manual says that the battery on the filter is not replaceable and will eventually run out and die. Once I actually found the right adapter through Shopee and installed the filter, I was pretty happy with the performance. Beware, the water runs out pretty slowly as it takes a bit of time to filter but the water tastes nice and clean. There is a big difference in taste with and without the filter. Additionally, the light to change the filter came on after 69 days, not 90+, and there is no way we have used 100 gallons of water.

Fitting the unit to the tap is very quick and easy with adapters included to fit most taps.The water tastes so much sweeter and the cost of replacement filters is well below the price of other filters on the market. Well worth the price.
