This dash cam has been working without problems for over a year.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The size of this camera is smaller than I was expecting, and that's a good thing.I've only tested it during the daytime, but can say that the picture is VERY clear.Pointing it in a relatively dark area of the house though wasn't all that promising. But I'm pretty sure that it'll be good enough to show what happened in an accident at night, and that's the important thing..The white LED on the front, next to the lens is a joke. It would be useful as a low grade LED flashlight. Maybe.Lets face it - even 5 or 6 small white LEDs wouldn't be useful past 8 or 10 feet. If that much..A very pleasant surprise is the small rearview camera.You have more than enough wire to take it all of the way back of a van, assuming that you don't go crazy trying to conceal it. I can't think of any car that would be so large that you'd run out of wire leading the small camera to the back windshield.The small camera had four IR LEDs. Again, this isn't enough to light up the scene very far behind you. Also, Infrared light doesn't go through glass very well, if at all. Clear plastic? Yes.I haven't tried the software on the CD, but the free Windows Movie Maker works really well with .MOV files. It also lets you convert the huge .MOV file to a much smaller .MP4 file.I'll post more later.

As noted by other reviewers, the user manual is crap. However, the dashcam works perfectly. I am not using the rear camera or the GPS unit. At first when I was setting up the camera on the computer, the camera would keep shutting itself off and I thought I would have to return it. So I left it turned off and connected to the computer to charge the battery for a few hours. After that, I had no more problems with setting up the camera.

I love this thing, I feel naked without it. picture is clear and loads up on my pc (windows 8) without drivers. be careful not to change the language though. takes a while for the GPS to start working but when it does it is great...if you are not speeding. the best software for this is called RegistratorViewer, and you download it for free from a bing or google search.
