This stuff works. I always keep one on hand in my car and at home because the key to its effectiveness really is to use it at the first sign of any cold: runny nose, that weird “hollow” sinus feeling, or that icky throat sensation. This is what I find it works best for. If the cold is too far along it’s much harder for this to work on it, however it can shorten a cold that’s already taken hold. When I feel something coming on I use this in tangent with a refreshing and natural mint mouthwash such as Hello brand. Now when I gargle to get at whatever is trying to take hold in my throat I lay back on my bed so I can get the mouthwash as far down in my throat as possible and gargle it in my throat for a good 5 minutes. I repeat that multiple times throughout the day with this nasal spray and it really is miraculous how it kills whatever virus is trying to wage war on my body.

I know many people feel Zicam is questionable as to its effectiveness. But,I can say I’ve used it for many years and I beg to differ. If I start using it as soon as I get the infamous scratchy sore throat and continue to use the nasal spray every several hours for the next 2 days, I will either get a cold that is not very severe and will only last a couple of days or it completely subsides. If I don’t use Zicam, the symptoms are twice as severe and the cold may linger for a week to 10 days. Often turning into a cough that will last a couple of weeks. I have occasionally not been able to get Zicam and every time I couldn’t start it or started it a day or two post the sure throat, I suffered through a “bad” cold. I’m a huge supporter of the nasal spray. Also, I’ve never dealt with any loss of taste or smell from using it. However it does burn your nasal cavity and throat after you spray it. That generally subsides in a little bit.

This works. Just follow the directions. It causes you to have a weird taste in your mouth but compared to getting sick it’s a no brainer. It’s easy to use and is effective.

I gave this four stars because of the price. As for the product itself? I highly recommend it because it cuts down the severity and duration of a cold. I am not sick but I will get this just in case to avoid getting knocked down. I highly recommend this and I also recommend you stay at home if you are sick. When I am getting symptoms of a cold, I immediately use this. I like it so much more than the tablets. This really clears out my nasal passages! Almost like going to my brain haha. But I use this twice a day when feeling sick and I seem to get over it quickly.
