Infinity Kappa 693.11I 220W 6 x 9 Inches 3-Way Kappa Series Coaxial Speakers with Edge-Driven UTF Tweeters, Black

I installed 4 of these in my 2002 Camry LE. 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear deck. In both cases this requires custom mounting. In the rear deck this is simply drilling holes in the metal deck to match the layout of the speaker and using foam gasket between the deck and the speaker frame.( after removing half of the rear seats, the deck cover and the wings between deck and headliner) The fronts were a bit more complicated. In this car the speaker mount that holds the speaker about 2" off the door surface is integral to the unit. The whole thing is plastic so I broke out the arms (spider) that hold the driver (cone) then filed off any raised areas left from this operation. I then positioned the Infinity 6X9 in this opening and marked where to drill holes to bolt the speaker to the mount. Since the Infinity 6X9 has a plastic frame I had to cut spacers to fit between the frame and the mount so I would not flex or break the speakers frame. Having removed the Toyota wiring connection from the mount I hooked leads to the speaker and fed them through the hole where the factory connection had been. I terminated these leads with one female and one male connector and did the same with the factory speaker wire so I have a connection that can only go together with correct polarity. After all this the mounts bolt in just like before and away we go. They sound great and have ample bass though I will spend a little time at some point tuning for optimum sound and chasing down buzz and rattle gremlins.( buzz and rattle are car issues not speaker issues) A bit of work but worth it. Excellent mid range making well recorded vocals sound like the singer is in the car with you. Clean and clear highs which are augmented by Infinity Kappa 3/4" dome tweeters in the dash locations of the original cone tweeters. Currently driven by head unit but will soon be powered by Polk Audio amps. Looking forward to that as my experience with Infinity home speakers is they really start to shine with real power.

If you are looking for 6x9 speakers, these are an insane value. I originally bought some JBL gx963, which are really great at their price point, but then I happened to see these marked down (I guess they are an older model?) and took a chance. So I got to compare them on the bench and the kappas are significantly better across the full range (not a knock on the JBLs... these are $250 speakers vs. $70. The JBLs are really good.) I was initially concerned because crutchfield said that these wouldn't fit my 19 subaru outback (they are 1/4" deeper than the JBLs, which crutchfield said would fit), but took a chance based on another review, and I can confirm that they fit fine with the metra 6x9 toyota/subaru mounting adapter. These speakers are very solidly built and just feel like quality all around. The only thing that isn't perfect about them is that the angled tweeters didn't line up well with the subaru's angled panel cutout. I either had to have them firing down towards the floor, or up towards the dash. Neither is optimal, but I chose towards the dash. I wasn't really worried about it since I have dash mounts into which I put Infinity reference 3.5", so it wasn't the end of the world. If I were paying full price I might have gone a different route because of that fact, but at $99 it was too good to pass up. Get 'em while they last!

BUY THESE SPEAKERS! Don't wait, just click. OK, that might be unreasonable, but here's my short story: I recently bought a 2016 Ford F150 XLT SuperCrew. Love the truck, almost all the features I want, except no premium stereo. It has an OK 8" touchscreen head unit that interfaces with Spotify, but the stock speakers are JUNK! I mean, literally junk. All 7 of them. Ford should be ashamed for using them in a $40,000 vehicle! I ordered a full set of Infinity REFerence line speakers. The pillar tweeters, dash center, front doors, and rear doors. VERY DISSAPOINTED! The high-end was shrill on the 6x9 REF front door speakers. I could not really stand to have the volume up past about 18 (out of 30). I found these Kappas for a great price here on Amazon, and decided to start by replacing the front door REFs with them. I just finished listening to Crime of the Century by Supertramp, and I was blown away at the improvement. Simply amazing. The front door speakers seem to dominate, or I'd be inclined to upgrade the other 5 speakers from REF to KAPPA also. I still might someday..... Nice work on these Kappas Infinity. However, the REF line should cost about half as much as it does, or these Kappas should cost about twice as much as they do (or both). I can't even imagine how they would sing with a decent amp installed. Hmmm....

These speakers sound great. I would definitely recommend them. While I'm not a professional, I am sort of an audiophile. I love music (Mostly classic rock, with some rap and R&B), I'm picky about sound quality, and I like to listen to my music loud. These speakers have a really crisp sound to them. Nice bass, clear highs, mid-range, and 0 distortion. My system is not crazy expensive or super powerful, but it's enough to feel the bass and leave my ears ringing a bit when I step out of the car. I purchased these to replace a set of Alpine SPS-619 6x9" Coaxial 3-Way Type-S speakers installed on the rear package shelf of my 1981 Trans-Am. The Alpines were 'OK'. They were a bit 'muddy', and they did not provide bass you could feel. With the SPS-619's and the system described below, a sub-woofer was a requirement. I still intend to add a sub to get a little more 'hit' from the bass, but I can push that purchase out a bit now because these Kappas provide enough bass to sound 'full' and let you feel the bass. Head unit: Alpine Digital Media CD/Sat/Receiver CDE-172BT Front speakers: Sound Ordnance P-35B 3-1/2" 2-way Speakers (powered directly from the head unit) Rear speakers: Infinity Kappa 693.11i Rear channel amp: Rockford Fosgate Prime R150X2 The Kappa 693.11i have 2 ohm impedance, which lets you get the max (75Wattsx2) from this amp. The Alpines were 4 Ohm speakers which in this setup would push only 50 watts (each) from the amp.

Superb clarity is this speaker's strongest attribute. They're so good in this regard that you can hear imperfections in low bitrate music. This is unfortunately also true with standard FM radio: the lower frequency is always apparent and any signal static sticks out like a sore thumb. However, feed these CD quality audio or better and they really reward you. Bass is serviceable but you should still consider a sub in your overall solution. Like other Infinity car speakers, the highs can be a little too much for some. A quality deck with an equalizer (and equalizer profiles for different kinds of music) is the best solution but that's not always an option, particularly if you want to keep your factory deck. The Reference series is a better choice, with the downside that they lack some of the lower bass range. Out of the box, the Kappas seem to like electronic music the most, with knife-like clarity but lacking the fullness you might want for rock ballads or symphonic.

I'm no car audio expert but a friend of mine is and he helped me instal two Rockford Fosgate amps one 500X1 for my 10" RF sub and one 400X4 for the door speakers. I'm also running an LC7i and a LC2i, these are necessary from what I've read to maintain the factory head unit on my 2017 Ram 1500 Sport. The truck sounded good when amped since it has the Alpine system in it but i wanted more and the muffled highs were driving me crazy at low volumes. I bought 4 Image Dynamics 6x9s to replace my stock Alpine speakers and they sounded pretty good until one of the tweeters popped after about 5 minutes of trying to tune them in! I sent in for a return of the front set and bought a pair of the Infini Kappas to replace them. once installed using the spacer provided (front door has a little less room than the back) I noticed the tweeters of the Kappas are pushing against the door panel (does not effect sound) but when I turned them on, holy crap, what a night and day difference. I'm actually going to order a second set for the rear doors and return the Image dynamics. Keep in mind Rockford rates their amps low, my 400 watt amp is actually pushing close to 600 and these 2 ohm Kappas love it! hope this helps. I'm also buying a set of the 6.5s Kappas for my Street Glide, I'm now sold on the Kappa line.

The speakers themselves are great and just what I was expecting. BUT this was not a new item. The internals of the box were barely holding together and it was obvious that the products have been handled previously. If I wanted to purchase a used item i would have and paid less. I wanted new! Not sure i can trust the products going to hold up the same.

Used these to replace 2011 Tacoma door speakers (paired with Infinity Reference 075tx 3/4" tweeters). Extremely pleased with the sound. Using Rockford Fosgate Punch P400 x 4 amp. 6x9's on the front channel and tweeters on the rear (to sort of act as crossover - more power/bass to 6x9's). Install requires mounting adaptors. Tried making my own but fitment between door frame/window glass and door panel is tight in places and I didn't want any rattles or damage of the cone surround. The built in tweeters on the 6x9's are angled and do not rotate so I chose to angle them up towards my ears. This puts the wire connections/crossover on top. Tacoma stock speakers have plastic over the top (I'm assuming to protect them from water dripping inside the door FYI water does get in the door). Some folks complained about blown crossovers in these speakers so I just covered the back side of the speakers with thick plastic sheet to keep them dry. Now I'm thinking I might replace my powered Bazooka 10" sub with something better to keep up with these Kappas (possibly JL 12" powerwedge +).

These speakers kick, lots of bass and very clear. They are mounted in my saddlebag lids in my 2017 Harley Davidson Road Glide special, and powered by a Biketronics 4180 amp. Running stable at 2 ohm. Simply amazing combination

Added these speakers to a 2010 Camry, front speakers are already pretty good and these speakers made a big difference. 2Ohme impedance allows for greater power and was very impressed with the sound quality. Cast aluminium basket add quaity too.
