This was my starter pasta roller. And it worked so well. Later bought the kitchen aid full set when it became clear that I could do this. This doesn’t cut the pasta like the full set does, but you can use some other way to cut it. The only downside was the attached spatula/brush. Synthetic bristle brushes are not strong enough to clean the roller so I usually found a stiffer, natural type brush to do it. When that pasta dries on the roller, you need a little strength to dislodge it. You can’t soak this thing in water. But, it was GREAT for getting thin dough for whole wheat egg rolls! Good buy.

I bought this roller after using a professional roller while taking a pasta making class in Rome last month. I discovered this device is an excellent add-on to our Kitchenaid mixer. I could not believe how well it works considering I paid so little for it. The device seems to be well constructed. It’s easy to attach to the mixer. There are 8 settings that are easily changed ( I used 5). It rolled the pasta perfectly. It was easy to clean. The only advantage the professional model had over this one is width. You’ll be rolling less amounts of pasta more times if you are making a large amount. I definitely recommend this roller to people like me, who use it infrequently and still want a quality device.

Very sturdy, smaller than expected, but the quality is good. Keep in mind that you should rinse them after washing because it might get rusty.

Worked perfectly. We used the recipe for pasta dough from the Kitchenaid website and followed the Kitchenaid instructions, and made the best tasting and texture pasta I have EVER EATEN.

I bought this item during Black Friday 2023 and used it for the first time tonight (~six months later). Honestly, I was dreading making homemade pasta for the first time, but it was so much easier than expected. I used a food processor pasta recipe but will try to make the dough with the KitchenAid mixer next time to avoid having to clean one more appliance. The instructions sent with the GVode pasta roller were clear and easy to understand. The roller was smooth and quiet and caused no problems. With practice, I learned how to "steer" the pasta sheet through and how to feed it to make the sheet more rectangular and less oblong. I made lasagna and didn't need to cut thin pasta, but I can see how easy fettucine would be by just lightly flouring, rolling, and cutting the sheet into strips. Cleanup of the roller was not needed; nothing stuck other than some fingerprints that wiped right off. There are plenty brands of these rollers but from a first use perspective, I have to say that this one is just fine.

Either I received a defective unit from the factory, or this product is designed so poorly that I can't recommend it to anyone. The roller bars are WAY too tight, so I believe something must be out of alignment with the unit I received. When I attach this to my stand mixer and turn it on, the pasta rollers make a very loud irritating squeaking sound that's clearly coming from the rollers and not my mixer. This alone indicates that there's way too much friction in the device. I can hear my stand mixer struggling to turn the roller bars and after a short while I even smell an electrical scent like the motor is burning out, even on the low setting. I have NEVER had this happen when making any other recipes with my mixer- it handles all other dough and mixing tasks just fine. When the pasta roller is detached from the mixer, it's almost impossible to turn the crank shaft by hand to make the rollers spin. I have a normal tabletop pasta machine that I use as well that I compared this one against. On the tabletop pasta machine, it's so easy to turn the handle that I can literally turn it with one finger, even at the base of where the handle attaches where there's no leverage. I can not use this attachment without being in fear of breaking my stand mixer. It's a shame because without the tightness issue, the product seems like it's solidly built and would be perfect for making low-hydration ramen dough. Please contact me about getting this defective unit replaced.
