From "Sound and Vision"; Sony updates its triple-threat Wi-Fi, AirPlay, and Bluetooth AVR with more balanced sound, and it's about the best we've heard at this price.  Improved power transformer and other components, and localized analog power supplies to keep electromagnetic radiation away from amplifier circuits (among other things).  Supported Internet radio services include the newly added Spotify. New remote.  The Sony STR-DN1050 is the best receiver I've ever heard selling for $600, and I've heard quite a few. This receiver has dynamics reminiscent of something much more expensive, perhaps even twice its price, along with a fine-tuned tonal balance that benefits anything you might listen to. Does this unit have support for HDCP 2.2?

No, There are currently no Sony recievers on the market that support HDCP 2.2. There is an Onkyo, but even it only has 1 port dedicated to it. The STR-ZA1000ES will support HDCP 2.2 but it is not available yet. Luckly right now there isn't very much content that supports HDCP 2.2. but it will become a problem later if you trying to future proof your system. They will be able to update the HDMI firmware but the hdcp is not backwards compatible due that the current hardware was not designed for it yet. Honestly, I would wait. They starting to roll out HDCP 2.2 Receivers soon, beats worrying about it later. Hope that helps.

Does this model support HDCP 2.2?  Generally, what percentage of streaming media and movies on optical disc are protected by HDCP?

This model does not support HDCP 2.2.  This will only be an issue if you want to play some future Ultra HD 4K content in the future.  If you don't plan on upgrading to 4K in th very near future then HDCP 2.2 compatibility should not be a concern.
