Very helpful book
I dabbled as a henna artist for a couple years, and I appreciate seeing this instruction in a format for drawing, because I could never draw the designs I made in henna. The book is well laid out, with 4-step directions breaking down each mandala into parts that make sense. The circular graph makes it easy to replicate each drawing. I appreciate that the graphs are drawn with proportions specific to each mandala. I was able to translate these skills into other art, such as watercolor (line and wash). The quotes provided with each mandala add some meaning and inspiration as you work through the tutorials.Don’t let the simplicity of this book deter you from purchasing it. The beauty and effectiveness lie in this simplicity. I recommend it for anyone who loves mandalas but feels intimidated by the idea of drawing their own. Great gift!

Easy to learn!
I really enjoyed this book! They break down how to draw a mandala in steps and it was easy to follow and my drawings turned out beautifully! I may try some with colored pencils.

I really like it, fun to draw & I'm no artist
The examples include 1 full size mandala, ready to color. Has one round chart to draw on with 4 quarter charts with bits drawn on each so there is plenty of space to see the chart lines. These pages are on opposite each other so easy to use. The chart lines on the examples are in gray while the lines to be drawn show in black. The chart to draw on is in gray also. I enjoy trying to make my mandala look like the one in the book, but it's a little harder than I thought. Not so hard to not buy book, but it gives a little bit of a challenge.

Nice Mandalas but incorrect outlines
I really like the mandalas in the book but please note that the workspaces to outline the mandalas are not even spaced and do not match the designs they’re meant to copy. Very poor quality in the designers part.

Easy to use, great training tool
I love that it came with so many guideline pages, it provides a great foundation to practice on. The different exercises don't just teach you the method, but they are great for training the creative thought process used in creating your own designs.

Book came with creases, not the best condition
The book looks like a great tool but mine came with creases, I would like a book in better condition.

Excellent cahier

Great book if you want to draw Mandalas
I was happily surprised with this book for making pretty complex mandalas in a simple way. I own most mandala books and I think I like this one the best to show how to actually draw it.Each mandala is shown on one whole page. Then it has a demonstration page that breaks down the mandala into 1/4 of a circle segments, laid out in a mandala grid. There are 4 steps shown. In Step 1, what you are supposed to draw in the mandala grid is shown in black ink.In the Step 2 section; what you previously drew in step 1 is changed to a grey ink, with the new steps to draw shown in black ink. Then it continues to demonstrate each step in the same format, what was previously drawn shown in grey, then what you are to draw next in black.Beside the page showing all the steps, is a blank grid in grey ink for you to draw your mandala. So you can see what you are supposed to draw beside where you actually draw in the book.It seems a very smart way to break down complex mandalas. If you drew all 20 designs, you would probably have a lot of ideas from the practices to launch off on drawing your own mandala designs. It is all visual demonstration, with only a small amount of text on the first page only. But it’s very inspiring to pick up a pen and give it a go.

All black and white images
Although the designs in this book are great. I was a bit disappointed as i expected the designs to be in colour. As someone who has never drawn or painted Mandalas before, possible colour designs would have been very helpful.
