Will this work for items under a pound?

Yes, I put a small stapler- personal use one, not business use one- on the scale and it weighed in at 2 oz. This scale weighs pounds, ounces and fractions of ounces ( not actually showing it as a fraction but in tens/tenths places). I can't remember what it was but something else I had weighed came in at .6 ounces. So yes, this scale can weigh items under a pound, just don't exceed the 85 pound max limit.

Of course. I use it all the time. It weighs up to 85 lbs.! After weighing the item in it's packaging I also take into consideration the amount of weight for tape used and any added paperwork; like packing slip, etc.. Then I cross reference it with the fastest and cheapest way to ship it using USPS info. Great scale for the price and what it can do. Good Luck. Hope this helps.

I ship 2-3 oz packages & the difference between 1.9 oz and 2.1 oz can be $2 for international postage. Does this scale have the accuracy I require?

Mine does. I ship international quite a bit and have had no problem. What I did was took my old scale weighed and compared. I bought rhis one because it weighs heavier things than my other. Hope this helps you.

No, it does not. Only AC cord and 9-volt battery. It has worked well, both for lightweight and heavier items.
