Purina ALPO Chop House in Savory Juices Adult Wet Dog Food - (12) 13.2 oz. Cans

IMHO feeding dogs just the wet food is not good for them. But they get very bored when fed just the dry food. Spooning out 1/8 can of food and mixing in is inconvenient. So I came up with this recipe and way of feeding my dogs.I take one can of Chop House and mix with one can of the GravyCravers or Prime Cuts and add a quarter more water. I use a upright jug that holds around 1 1/2 quarts. I shake it really well to break up the chunks and make a gravy. I then keep it refrigerated.I spoon 1 big spoonful of the chunks into the dry food and then pour a little gravy over. Then stir in well. It's very easy to stir into the food because I've already broken it up.My American Bulldog Petunia goes nuts over her food. She barks at the sound of stirring and jumps up and down following me as I put down her bowl.My picky Chihuahua Mix Rocco that I had trouble getting to eat really likes this mix. He licks his chops when he sees me coming with the food. He starts by eating the chunks from the gravy cravers and then ends up eating the dry coated in the ground dog food gravy mix.The 2 cans last a week. So for less than $1.40 a week I have two happy dogs. Both in good health. Not breaking the bank on this one. BTW I combine with Diamond Dog food a semi premium brand.It's very convenient to feed them this way. Because I've already added the water and mixed.I think they enjoy the combination of textures too.

I bought three cases of this dog food and it came within two days. I started using it the following weekend and discovered that out of the three cases a good third of the cans were severely dented at the bottom. All the dents were different. Some looked as if they'd been dropped on a sharp edge. Others had the bottoms collapsed. I ended up going thru all three cases and pulled out those that had the worst dents to use them first. Either Purina gathered their dented cans and passed them on to the consumer thru Amazon or Amazon did. Either, I didn't need the aggrevation.

After my first purchase of this product, which wasn't too well accepted by my 2 dogs, I found that the primary problem was mostly a matter of serving a different food product. Now that they have accepted this product, all of the feeding sessions find that they really enjoy what is going to be their regular food source. The main obstruction which I had to serving this Alpo brand was where is this product produced ?. After contacting the main office, I was informed that this product is totally made in the U.S., so I'm now a customer of Alpo because I will not serve my pets,foods that are produced in foreign countries, China, being my most major objection because their dog food production is the Worlds most unhealthy, dangerous pet food products coming into the country !I won't eat garbage and neither will my dogs !!!!!!!!!!!

This is pretty good canned meat. I got tired of nothing but Spam, so this has been a refreshing change. I love it mixed with some taco seasoning and put in corn shells with some lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Also makes a good spread on crackers right from the can. It tends to coagulate and mush up when used in a stew, though. Our dinner club wasn't too impressed. It is killer in a meat pie if you add some fresh veggies!

This is now the only kind of soft dog food I will feed my boys. They get so excited whenever I say Chop House. I've purchased the other Alpo food the one in gravy, but they didn't seem to like that one as much. I have two chihuahua-terrier mixes, one adult and one senior. Lately my senior has had some diarrhea, but the Chop House seems to help his stools be more solid.

My dogs did like the food in juice, not the flavors with gravy I would mix it with a better brand to stretch it. Now the price has more than doubled since March and it has disappeared from all the area stores. Don't know what the problem is but since I found out that Nestle owns it, I will buy another brand instead.

Sorry for the late review. I have been ill and unable to get out much for many months. Which is a good reason to purchase a case of dog food and have it delivered. Our Digger O'Dell, a Black Lab, Loves Alpo and does not like a few others I have tried. He does like something called Blue Buffalo, but that costs two and a half times what Alpo costs. Delivery has always been great as I have reordered a few times.

I got a great price and have a dog with a delicate stomach. I chose this flavor and this flavor only because it is all she can eat since she has very few teeth. I bought 3 cases which was great to have the supply I needed. There is a but... the third case is not this product as you can see by the attached picture. This is not good. I do not have a way to contact and ask about this mistake so I am putting it in the review.
