I bought this flask to cook black beans. I boil the beans for about 15 minutes and then put them in the flask and leave it overnight and they are virtually done the next morning.

WARNING: AVOID IF NOT SURE! This flask is so huge! It cost me £19 to return after waiting weeks for it to arrive. I now have a much smaller one which I find is brilliant and no where near the cost of this one. Also, it was £77 when I bought and now it’s £110…that says it all!

I’ve had this Thermos for about 11 months now and have been very impressed with its performance. I work 12 hour work days year round, in the winter here it gets down into the -30’s Celsius for extended periods, and occasionally into the -40’s with the wind chill, so I like to have a hot meal at lunch. I will load this fresh off the stove/out over the oven/crock pot at supper in the evening and then put the insulated plug in and lid on, and at lunch the following day I will open it up and the contents will still be steaming hot! In addition to work I’ve now used this for ice fishing, hunting, and on a few all day winter hikes. I absolutely love this thing and am going to be purchasing one for my father-in-law for his lunches as well this year as it’s now beginning to get cold again. The quality and performance of this Thermos is top notch and a must have for anyone who spends a lot of time in the cold and appreciates a hot meal without the need for a fire or microwave!

I did away with the 2 containers that came with it as I originally wanted a thermal for soup only. I like that it keeps my soup really hot for the duration I wanted.
