Great little oven and wonderful burners on top, for camping or anywhere!
Why I bought it: I needed a small oven that is portable, one to a house porch, then for my Casita camper, which has only burners inside. I do a lot of weekend car/tent camping also, and use little Coleman cannisters for my Buddy heater, and thought I could use them on this oven as well. Its a great thing to be able to fry chicken outside, not stink up the house too. What else did I get: Ordered the handy carry bag, which has well places handles on each side, is black nylon, and well padded to protect the oven This is a good idea, and makes it so easy to transport. Did it work well? I really like the burners. The knobs light the stove and burners, so no matches needed. I tried cooking water for coffee in a teakettle, first, to learn how everything worked, then a batch of eggs on top, and noted how even and fine the flames are, and adjust easily, and cleans up easily too. Much easier not to burn pancakes etc, when one can adjust the flames so finely. Beats many camping stoves any day. The burner lid is a wind screen, and is very effective, and stands up with the little metal clips easily Next, lit the oven, which has a pilot light that comes on the bottom, which the glass door makes it easy to spot, once lit, adjust the temp knob. I made orange sweet rolls from the can for my camping crew, which turned out just right. It looks like smaller roasting pans or brownie pans, will fit better in this unit. This little oven should bake a smallish chicken, or two game hens, etc no problem.. There are two removable wire shelves inside, nice and sturdy. I believe with some adjustment, I can cook a duck in it. The thermometer is outside the oven on the control panel. I have not tested, but if you need exact oven temp control, just get your own for inside the oven. Although it takes several minutes longer to heat up than a indoor oven, once heated seemed to maintain the temperature well. No odors, etc. A handy grabber handle is attached is on the ovens handle, lest one's forgets, and gets burned. With this one, not a chance. If one is needing it, a simple egg timer would help. I kept an eye on it, because I had it under a large screen room to keep it out of the rain. It did not overheat my LL bean screen shelter ceiling however, and I kept it under the center peak, on the picnic table, away from the sides. Would I purchase this again: Yes! All in all, sturdy, good burners and stove, and great for many applications, like brownies, breads, smaller pizzas, cornbreads, muffins, and will greatly increase what I usually can cook while camping, especially on wet days. where fire cooking is too difficult. Happy I bought it. Keep the bubble rap around the regulator, you can re-wrap it so it doesn't bang around inside the stove while travelling.:)

Excellent Choice For Both Oven and Burners
I just used this oven for the first time this past week. I love that the burners on top heat so fast! I previously used a Coleman double burner, and it took FOREVER to heat anything. These burners also have a built in "clicker" so you aren't supposed to have to use a lighter to light them. I used this outdoors while camping, and the ground isn't level. The left burner would automatically light. The right one wouldn't. I don't know if it's because it's not even, or if there's an issue with the right burner, but I don't mind using the lighter if I have to, and it doesn't detract from the fact the burners work so well. I also used the oven to cook a 6 pound chicken, as well as to heat up a pre-made casserole. There's no way to regulate oven temperature, so you basically have to guess as to where to put the oven control in order to get 350, 400, etc. I set the oven, left the chicken, and it went to 400. But the chicken was delicious, so I don't have any complaints there. My only issue was that when I accidentally let something boil over on the stove, I couldn't get the top clean. It was almost as if it burned into the enamel (or whatever the material is) on top. I know it's going to get dirty, but I do try to keep everything looking nice, even if I'm taking it camping! However, this works so well overall that I wouldn't take a star away from this. Just don't let anything boil over!!!! A word to the wise--I bought one that was delivered in February--but didn't move it off the enclosed back porch or take it out of the box until June when we started packing for camping. Big mistake. When it ships, there's no protection in front of the glass. During shipping, the entire glass front somehow got shattered. When we realized it, it was over the return time. However, Amazon replaced it for us--with no issues, which definitely makes me want to keep buying from Amazon in the future! So when you have this delivered, inspect it immediately--especially if you want to use it right away! I would absolutely buy this again!

Updated review after 5 years - If you want to cook outside, you WANT this product
UPDATE- After about 5 years the oven no longer stays lit. I don't blame the oven, there is probably an easy enough remedy but after 5 years of use it was starting to get nasty from neglect. We decided to replace it with a new one. They made some enhancements, it's just a higher quality product that seems to have addressed the shortcomings that made this originally a 4 star review. I have bumped it up to 5 stars. Unfortunately the second unit came missing the regulator. It's not a huge deal because the old one fit, but I did contact the company and request the missing regulator because I might want to refurbish the old oven in which case I will need the missing regulator. Hopefully they agree because otherwise I have to ship the entire unit back for replacement. Original review: We live in Hawaii and do most of our cooking outside. We bought this oven so that we could bake things without heating up the house. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly on this oven: The Good: It bakes things well. It delivers a fairly even heat and uses very little propane. I was really surprised at how energy efficient this unit is. Contrary to other reviews I have read, I find that the range burners deliver a lot of heat. And it is the perfect size and heat distribution to use the two range burners (set on lowest setting) with a cast iron griddle to make the perfect pancakes. The range burners have self ignited every time I have needed to use them. We have cooked two Cornish game hens in the oven with plenty of room to spare. You can cook a large chicken in this thing. No, it won't fit a turkey, but that's not the point of this oven. The meat comes out moist, tender, and juicy. More so than if we cook using our electric oven. The bad: They fixed all the things that was in this paragraph, so I deleted it. The ugly: There isn't anything ugly about this oven. After it arrived from Amazon I slid it out of the box and my wife said "Wow, it's beautiful." We love the look of stainless steel appliances and this oven has a sleek look using black on stainless. I would have preferred a brushed stainless that matches all our other appliances but the shiny chrome look is almost as good. To summarize, although self described by the manufacturer as a "camp" or "emergency" oven, we find it works well and looks great for everyday use. I wish it came with a hose adapter to use it on a regular propane tank, but I understand that they try to keep the cost down for people that may not want to use it.

Great Oven Except for Thermometer Readings
I recently bought this oven to replace a full size home gas oven for our camping group, to avoid lugging around such a big appliance that had been converted to propane, and to avoid having to use a generator to keep the automatic igniter working on the old oven. I would have rated it five stars had the included thermometer read correctly. ( I would give it four and a half but that is not an option here ). Our group only used the oven part of our stove for biscuits and small dessert type things so the ability to use two 9x13 pans or bread loaf pans was not a problem and meets our needs. The two burners on top are a bonus since we also bought a three burner Camp Chef gas grill that is really powerful and works from simmer to full roar. I have used the stove several times now before taking it camping, always using it outside in the cold ( 38-low 50's ) to see how it would perform in the real world. I baked potatoes and banana bread a few times and found that it took longer than the directions said, but then found out that the thermometer that is installed at the top is WAY off. I bought a Taylor oven thermometer and went by that, and the times were spot on. Be advised that the Taylor ( 4 1/8 " x 3 1/4 " ) is bigger than I would have wanted for the space in the stove and is somewhat in the way, but I plan to replace it with the smaller Cooper Atkins model. The banana bread baked with the new thermometer was perfect at the recipe directed time and temp. We will be using this inside a big mess tent without a lot of wind, but the temperature will vary with the seasons which is why I used it outside at my house for the tests. Now to some of the complaints in the reviews about burning food. It is true that there are no preset temperature stops available, but I have found that after about a 30 minute preheat all you have to do is to keep an eye on the temp and make small adjustments to keep things under control. Also, after a long time it seems to stabilize and frequent adjustments are not needed. FYI-Camp Chef has introduced a new more powerful oven with temp presets, listed on their website, but I cannot find it listed for sale anywhere else just now. Also, the two racks inside can be flipped upside or down to give more or less room between them due to a slight bow in each rack as well as the different mounting slot heights. It is lightweight and the protective cover I bought has very convenient side carry handles and is nicely padded. All the piezo igniters on our stove work well on both the oven burner and top burners. I also found that with a 20 pound tank there was no output drop in the oven burners when the top surface burners were turned on. Last but not least, I have to report on Camp Chef's customer service. I purchased the before mentioned three burner grill from a source that was not Amazon due to an amazing close out price, and it was damaged during shipping. After contacting Camp Chef with a nice letter and photos, they very promptly sent replacements for the damaged parts and a free gift for my trouble. The unit would have been swapped out for a new one but it was no longer available from the place I purchased it from due to the closeout situation on this particular unit. A really pleasant and hassle free experience. To finalize, this is not a full size replacement for your home stove by any means, nor will it produce as much heat in very cold weather as your home oven, but is in my opinion a great value and very adequate little camp oven with adequate top burners.

LIFE SAVER!
I ordered this on August 29 a day after Hurrican Irene hit NY because I knew it would be several days before we got power back. Amazon's 2-day delivery came through despite UPS having to take an alternate route through downed power lines. I unpacked it, attached the adapter hose and tank and started cooking...after I figured out how to stabilize that wind screen. That is the only part that made me a little cranky. It took me several minutes to notice that there are holes on the side of the oven that the wind-screen clips fit into. The instructions don't explain that part...or much else I had looked at this unit and its review a couple of months ago and I am happy to say that I didn't have any of the problems mentioned in earlier reviews. This may be a later, updated model than the one received by the earlier reviewers. First of all, it works like a charm. For whatever reason, I thought that I would have to use a lighter for the burners. Instead, they have built-in igniters that worked instantly. The flame/heat control is much better than that on my big gas grill and rivals that on my kitchen range. You can actually cook on this unit. This unit has fixed handles that are solid and do not fold in. There is a built-in thermometer for the oven (but the instructions refer to a "remote" thermometer) I may buy a thermometer since I never trust oven thermometers. I ordered the adapter hose/regulator for a bulk tank. The one I received was the correct item and attached without a hitch. Pros: Inexpensive for what it is. (It went up $40 after I ordered it, probably due to the demand after Hurricane Irene.) It really works..WELL. It is well designed, attractive, and not some butt-ugly contraption that I would be embarrassed to have the neighbors see. It's substantially built, but not too heavy for a 65-year-old woman to easily pick up a move around. Cons: The instructions are deficient, but most of the features/functions are pretty obvious...other than the wind-screen clips. You can't fit 2 really large pans on top of the stove...but this IS a portable unit. Regrets: I should have ordered the bag/case that is offered as part of the package. It is easy enough to move around, but that nice, shiny, stainless steel is going to develop scratches and dings when my beloved decides that it's in the way and tosses it into the back of the storage shed...until the next "weather event".

Great backup or prepping item!
This was a great purchase and goes well in our outdoor kitchen. Small enough to grab and go on a trip but nice enough to use as a backup cooker in our outdoor kitchen. As with most other reviews, it seems the thermometer may be a bit off. From what I can tell it is anywhere from 50 to 75 degrees off so we have to have a stand alone thermometer inside the oven while cooking. EXAMPLE- If something would call for 350 degrees then we would go over that by 50 to 75 degrees more if using the built it thermometer, and it works fine. Not a deal breaker. On the plus side I must say that with other reviews, people stated that their units only go to 350 degrees on the built in thermometer. Ours will show 550 plus degrees so we have no issues with that. Everything we have cooked in it has come out great. We've made homemade bread and biscuits, chicken breast, frozen pizzas and more with no issues. Everything works as it should including the burners on top. We did buy an adaptor propane hose to hook this to a 20lb tank so we didn't have to change that over as much. So far no issues and we love our new oven. Nice prepper or backup item to have for sure.

Best buy for the Christmas season.
Our off grid cabin didn't have a stove or oven. The 2 burner stove top we use is great but no oven. We got this and it's filled a void for us. This time of year (Christmas) my wife loves making cookies. This oven works great. The thermometer isn't great but if you keep an eye on it, we can manage. Probably would have bought the thermostatically controlled one in hindsight. Good price, easy to use and great design. We love it! 12/2025 So, it's been a year since we got this oven. We've been using it some for reheats and frozen meals or pizza. Does the job. I couldn't get the oven to heat up recently so I took the propane line to the burner off and cleaned out some flakes of dirt and made sure the orifice was open. Put it back together and we baked a pumpkin pie, fried bacon on the stove for the baked beans, then baked the beans. Everything turned out great. When baking a pie, especially one that takes over an hour, you have to monitor it closely and turn it a few times but it's worth the effort.

SIMPLY AWESOME
This is a luxury item for camping. In fact, i bought it so that i could make cinnamon rolls while car camping, and it has performed admirably. When i go on group trips, or trips where we will be setting up a base camp, i am the envy of the camp site. I can have Cinnamon Rolls and biscuits in the oven, Bacon and Eggs on one burner, and a percolator of coffee on the other. It's awesome. The oven gets hot fast, retains heat very well because of the superior insulation, and the temperature is easy to regulate once you get the hang of it. (hint: cracking the oven door while it's on high is a great way to keep it around 375-400F) The stove top is very well built. Brass burners won't rust, the flame is easy to control, the knobs are sturdy - not cheap feeling at all, and the output is robust. A standard griddle pan will fit nicely over the burners and creates a great surface for pancakes. In addition to a deluxe car camping experience, this oven is ideal for preppers and survivalists who want to stock a small cabin or their garage with a reliable, full featured stove that will run on readily available propane. Out of the box, the stove is equipped to run on standard 16oz propane canisters. For more extended or heavy use, it is easy to attach a bulk tank adapter, which makes it possible to use the stove with a full sized propane tank. I do not regret this purchase at all and recommend one of these to anyone who is looking to take their car camping to the next level of luxury or have a fantastic and reliable way to cook in an emergency.

Just what I have been looking for! My trailer had no oven.
I waited to write the review until I actually tested the product. We just came home from camping and I must say - the camp oven was a huge success. I baked chicken breast the first night - shake n baked the chicken, placed on a little olive oil and covered with tin foil. I generally cook the chicken in a hot oven - so I put on high for 30 mins and it turned out perfect, juicy, tender and crispy. I let the stove cool to 400 and had pre-made some peanut butter/chocolate chip cookie dough at home - before we left and kept in the fridge. Baked those for about 9 mins - you can just smell when they are ready. DELISH! What a hit! I also boiled and then fried perogies on the top burners. Stove is great quality, burners work well. Only issue that I found was that while I am 5'5 putting the stove on the picnic table was a little high for me when using the upper burners. I had brought a standing stool for my camper - so I used that and problem solved. Camp Oven cools quickly so you can put back in storage when done eating. We also bought the cover and it's worth the money to protect and keep your stove nice. All around excellent purchase and would highly recommend! Even my husband who rolled his eyes when he saw it arrive from Amazon (surprise) - changed his mind and loved it while camping.
