If you don’t like complex or confusing poetry, this book is for you. If you never read poetry, but wanting to try one, this book is definitely for you. “Love and Misadventures” could really turn you into a poetry addict. Content Lang Leav is a well-known international poet whom is known for her ability to turn simple words into a beautiful story. All the poems that are written in this book are within one page, but it uncovered a story that you could interpret in your own ways. The themes of the poems in this book are easy to relate to: love and misadventures in love. You could found yourself smiling along or nodding along as you read these beautiful poems that are able to perfectly describe your feelings in an alluring way. The author has a great ability to transform complex emotions into a few simple words that you could easily comprehend as a light reading. With just a few short sentences, Lang Leav is able to bring you through a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps you wanting to read more. Design This book has a simple cover design, with bold color as the border. In the middle of the cover, there is an animation design that lures reader to a mysterious and sad feeling. The simplicity reflects the simple and easy to interpret poems that open to a possibility of deep and substantial meanings. On the other hand, the animation gave a mysterious and sad feeling that intrigue the readers to the right emotion to enhance the experience while reading the book. During the transition from one chapter to the other, the author incorporated simple sketches that she had illustrated to enhance the story. Delivery The book arrived on time and within one week. The condition was like a new one and it was package nicely in a safe plastic cover. It really worth your money!

I was captured by this book because of how elegantly simple and economical with words Lang Leav’s poetry is. The poems touch on moments and emotions so beautifully and for some there was a strong emotional impact for me. Her poems were so resonant with me, and I felt very moved by this collection. The book moves from the feeling of looking for someone, and losing someone, to finding love and happiness, and it’s wonderful to read each piece and take in the experience it’s trying to convey. I feel like this is a book that I will come back to many times over and be stirred by new things at different times in my life. The illustrations by the author are quirky and cute, and while they didn’t add too much to the feel of the poems for me, it was wonderful to see how talented the author is and how this book felt so much like a true piece of art.

This book was a purchase well made! I enjoyed reading many of the poems. Most of the work is short, simple, yet hauntingly beautiful and I felt myself really connecting with some of the poems. The reason I am knocking down one star is because although many of the poetry was powerful and evocative, there were a few poems in there that kind of made me scratch my head and wonder how I went from one lovely poem on one page then turn the page to read something such as: "He makes me blush! He makes me want to brush and floss!" Girl, I hope he doesn't have a nasty mouth to make you want to clean your own. In all seriousness though, it just felt like the author did not put as much thought into some poems that they lacked the same depth and maturity as the others. Some of these shallow poems did have potential though. Don't get me wrong, I was still able to very much enjoy this book. The thoughtful, well written poems make this book worth the buy! And I must also mention, the included artwork is delightful!

This collection of poems were incredibly delightful to say the least. If I could go back to ninth grade and choose a poem for my poetry collection, Lang Leav would have full respects and I'm pretty sure my English teacher would be impressed... probably slightly dazzled too. It's what her words did to me, and I could relate to a slew of them, to me, she explains her poetry like my friend explains the obvious to me, her words aren't obnoxiously crafty or frilled and pretty, her rhymes are subtle and flowing, which makes the whole poem wonderful when you get to the end... And when you get to the end of some of these poems, you create notes like,"so many feels!" And, "exactly. That's how I felt".

Over a decade later, I’m writing a review to remember when she got me through some tough times.. the first book I fell in love with and then bought the others as well as her calendar!! They spoke to me and it was reassuring to read words that expressed how I felt then.

Lang Leav is one of the poetry authors who have this way with words that hits you right to your core. What I love about her is that she doesn't only focus on one topic/theme. No matter what type of poetry you're looking for, Lang will surely have a piece for you! This is already my 5th book of hers and I know I'll be getting more! (If only we'll have more hardcover option for her books)

Overall it was good and clever but it didn't knock my socks off. I know of Lang Leav's work somewhat from Tumblr and there's been a lot of "hoopla" I like to call about her poetry books. While I enjoyed the poems, nothing reached in and ripped my guts our or took my breath away. Perhaps it is her style that doesn't resonate with me, emotionally. The poems are quite good, very clever too. It's not easy to rhyme AND make sense. Loved the artwork too. I liked that the book has page numbers (not all poetry books do, no idea why). I also appreciated the poems each had a title and were indexed in the book (not all poetry books do, no idea why not). One issue with the "Index" was the poetry were listed not in chronological order, but by title. So I had to keep going back to the poem and reference what the title was, which was a pain in the butt (and a waste of time really). In the "About" page I would have also listed the other places online you can find and connect with the poet, if you're interested. Oh, I liked the font they chose but I would have made the font slightly larger to read. Why not, you have the page space. Out of seventy five poems, I like about twenty of them. But still nothing that really blew me away. I think I almost preferred some of the poems in "Whispering Bones" by Drew Hairgrove and "Poetry with Teeth" by Isabella Brooks to the poems in this book. I'm on the fence as to whether I'm going to keep the book or donate it to my local library.

You have probably seen tidbits of Lang Leav's "Love and Misadventure" somewhere out there on the internet, and if you're like me- trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed. Leav's poetry really has the reader connect with the poet and vice versa. She says all that she needs to say and she does it simply and beautifully. There are no hard to comprehend words nor concepts, and most of her poems are short though strong in emotion. I had been waiting forever to get her book, and although it took me awhile I finally did so early in the month of May. I read most of her poems the very day I received the book. If you're looking into buying this book... just know that its title tells you exactly what you are to expect and that Lang Leav does a wonderful job in writing poetry , expressing herself, and connecting with you.

dieses Buch ist voll mit schönen Sprüchen, kleinen Texten und einfach lauter ergreifender Poesie! ist bestimmt auch ein schönes Geschenk für jemand dem Poesie Freude bereitet, ich werde mir auf jeden Fall noch das andere Buch von lang leav kaufen!

I've read these pages 12 times over, each time a new wave of feeling and understanding. Just beautifully written, all of it.

Loved this book! The poems are so succinct and yet so profound! They are simple enough to make the reader feel, "I could have written that" and yet so difficult to actually write! They make you all warm and gooey inside, whether its about love or heartbreak! This book is something that I'd like to have on my nightstand just to flip through it and read a couple of poems every now and then! Also the fact that the author has created the illustrations herself is pretty amazing too!
