Lovely Chi Iron: Even perfect for heavy linen or cotton!
I bought this Chi Iron for my sewing room. I wanted a Rowenta level iron, but have been concerned with the negative reviews on their irons recently. My setup uses a silicone iron rest and a large wool pressing mat on the end of my large work table. When it first arrived I set it up and was impressed with hot fast it heated. This iron is more wattage than I’ve owned previously. I get a small amount of dimming on lights that are plugged into my outlets, but I expected that. I sew with mostly woven fabrics of varying weights, linen and cotton. I filled the water tank. Steamed up a wrinkled linen. Not “insanely crisp” after one pass but not wrinkled. But it was leaking from the handle right below the water tank lid. I emptied the while thing out, refilled carefully. Aaaand leaking again. I messaged Amazon and they had a replacement at my house the next day. I was able to choose my local Whole Foods for the returned package and dropping it there was easy peasy. The counter was at the front of the store, they scanned the barcode in my Amazon App and showed me the confirmation on their end. Three seconds. And I needed bread so that was perfect. The second iron worked just as great with no leaking at all. I’ve been using it a month now and I am still in love with it. Best features: Heats fast fast fast, from cold to whatever temp you pick. Water tank holds a lot of water and is easy to see where the water level is located. Steam is fantastic. Buttons are easy to push and the cap for the water flips up easily. (My last iron had a water cap that was more like a secret door because it was so hard to open without a nail file or something tiny) Oh and it’s easy to see what setting and if the iron is on from far away because of the light at the base of the handle and the large letters on the settings that light up. Oh, AND the cord is so long I can plug it in 5 feet away and still have room to navigate. Cons: Small hole for water. See photos, I use my tiny watering can and it’s perfect!! The nose of the iron isn’t quite as thin as I wanted, but it is still okay. See photos for visuals. 💕

Good Iron
I am no professional. Just a normal guy who needs to iron clothes etc. In my opinion this is a great iron so far. Works as advertised, good construction and easy to use. I personally like the water fill location and locking cap - doesn’t leak.

Pressing Perfection
I’ve always been of the belief that a good iron can be the unsung hero in maintaining a polished, professional look. That’s why I decided to make a significant investment in the CHI Steam Iron with Advanced Touchscreen. Initially, I was taken aback by the price point, but after using it, I can confidently say it was worth every penny. Strengths: The most striking feature of the CHI Steam Iron is its advanced touchscreen interface. This modern addition not only lends the product a sleek aesthetic, but it also provides a highly intuitive, easy-to-use control system. Navigating through the various settings is a breeze, and the responsive touchscreen ensures precise control over the iron’s temperature and steam settings. The steam function of this iron is impressive, providing a powerful yet controlled burst that effectively smoothens out stubborn wrinkles. Whether it’s cotton shirts or heavy-duty linens, the CHI Steam Iron handles all fabrics with remarkable ease. The steam output is adjustable, allowing for customization depending on the type of fabric or the level of wrinkling. Additionally, the iron glides beautifully on all types of material, thanks to its high-quality ceramic soleplate. This ensures not only effective ironing but also prevents any risk of fabric damage due to sticking or overheating. As for durability, the CHI Steam Iron feels solidly built and designed to last. The quality of materials used, along with its overall construction, exudes a sense of reliability that justifies the investment. Weaknesses: As of yet, I have not come across any significant drawbacks. The CHI Steam Iron has consistently delivered exceptional performance, matching up to its premium price tag. Conclusion: The CHI Steam Iron with Advanced Touchscreen is a game-changer for anyone who values the crisp, clean look of well-ironed clothes. Its superior performance, combined with its user-friendly design and high-quality build, truly elevates the ironing experience. While the price tag may seem steep initially, the convenience, efficiency, and professional results it delivers make it worth every dollar. If you’re willing to invest in a high-quality iron, the CHI Steam Iron comes highly recommended. It has transformed my ironing routine into a quick, efficient, and surprisingly enjoyable task.

A good alternative to the famous German brand
We needed a new iron, so I began looking at a well known German brand that used to be the gold standard. Unfortunately, the consensus seems to be that the quality of that company's products has gone down hill since manufacturing moved to Asia. After far too much research into residential and commercial irons, I decided to order this one and one of the top of the line models from the German company. Upon receiving and inspecting them both it was apparent that the German brand's iron would be going back to Amazon and I'd be keeping this CHI. Initial impressions of this iron after the first few uses are excellent: the cord is plenty long (2 ft longer than the retractable models), controls are comfortable and intuitive, and the water tank is big enough and reasonably easy to fill. It hasn't leaked except for a small drop after I got carried away with the steam burst function. At this point my only concerns going forward are about the longevity of the electronic controls and the coated soleplate. My previous irons have all had stainless soleplates, which I prefer, but CHI doesn't make those. Time will tell how long this iron is going to last, but the initial quality is quite impressive and inspires confidence.

Big Beautiful Brick
This was a fantastic iron . . . Note that I said WAS. As soon as the warranty expired, it died. The switch went out on it and now it is a big beautiful brick. Not paying 95.00 for an iron that barely outlives its warranty! My old Sunbeam lasted 20 years plus.

Never thought I’d gush over an iron!
This baby gets the job done! Nice large digital readout, just press the display for the type of fabric. No guessing, like when turning the dial on my old iron. It heats up very quickly. I like the audible alerts (beeps). It puts out a good amount of steam, which can be adjusted with the dial under the handle. The water reservoir is about 8 oz. It does need to be flat to fill but I haven’t found that to be a problem. I do plan to buy a silicone mat just to be safe. Honestly I’ve just been holding it level to fill , probably not recommended. Just be careful. As said, this iron gets HOT. I did not notice any water in the reservoir when I unpacked it, though the enclosed paper said there might be, because they test each one. I have not seen any unwanted leakage either. I have average size hands (female) and I have no issues bumping the dial under the handle as other reviewers have noted. And the handle itself is comfortable. It has more weight than my old iron, which I like. The iron does the work, I don’t have to press down as hard. I don’t find the weight fatiguing and I’m an older woman. The 10’ cord works for me because I have a large board for quilting and can reach farther. It is not a retractable cord. If you have pets roaming, like I do, be careful with the long cord. I lift it off the floor when I’m not near my ironing station. There is a 3 way shut off and shut off time can be programmed. The default was 30 min. and I left it at that setting. I also have it plugged into a surge protector and I shut that off when I am done for the day. Just a habit I got into for additional safety. I certainly can’t complain about the delivery. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it was delivered about 6:30 am Wednesday morning! Waiting on my doorstep! And very well packaged inside another box which hid the product. To be fair, I live about 10 miles from the Amazon distribution center. But still, that’s fast. I am extremely pleased with this iron. I can’t think of any negatives except that it was pricey. I’ve been quilting, sewing and doing numerous other crafts over the past 50+ years and this is absolutely the best iron I have ever owned, and hopefully the last. My grandmother had irons she heated in the fireplace. Hurray for technology! Oh, the ceramic sole is nice IMO. Can’t use Hot Iron cleaner on it though, just a damp cloth. Be careful with fusibles if you use them. And it uses regular tap water. This iron is an investment but I think it will be worth it. I would recommend if it’s within your price range.

Finally! A great steam iron with everything I wanted!
I had been hesitant to purchase this iron mainly because of the price but with the option to return it if I didn't like it, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. Boy Howdy am I glad I did!! I'll make this short by using bullet points: *1800 watts of heating power *10ft power cord (all other irons are shrinking their cords) *Virtual silent (no pops, sizzles, no loud beeps; has soft beep but the sound can be turned off) *Smooth iron glide no matter what temp you select *Super quick heating and easy to see by lcd display of XX% heating complete *Cools quickly if needed to change to a lower heat setting (also shows % when ready) *Amazing steam volume (great for ironing linens) If you're on the fence about trying this steam iron; go ahead and try it. I honestly don't think you will be disappointed. I've tried at least 6 other brands in the past and was never happy until I found this one by CHI.
