Good replacement, but not containing all the tools you need.
Iphones are surprisingly repairable. I've done this work on a couple of phones now and so when given a phone with a bad charge port, it was a no brainer to get the six or seven dollar part and do it myself. Professionally you can expect to spend over ten times that for a repair that honestly takes only about 30 minutes. There are a lot of products out there for repairing iphones and the difference so far as I can tell is the amount of hand holding the product gives you. There is some question about getting defective replacement parts and certainly this might be possible, but I would venture to guess the vast majority of unsatisfied customers are people who screwed up the process. It isn't hard to mess up after all. What comes in the box in this case is just what is shown, the part and a couple tools for getting into your phone. Actually this isn't nearly enough to do the job, getting the screen off is going to take additional tools. You will want a razor blade or some other piece for prying, a suction cup with a ring attached to lift the screen and tweezers at a minimum for lifting ribbon cables. Additionally you will probably need to watch a video if you've never done this before because there are parts you need to transfer from the piece your replacing to the new one in order for it to work. Primarily I'm referring to the speaker gasket, but there maybe others too. Luckily videos are common.Whats the worst that could happen? Well I suppose you could brick your phone, but more likely you'll ruin a component or two. This one is cheap, but the screen ribbon cables are also easy to ruin and that will probably add 30-40 dollars to your repair cost. Personally I still think that's a steal. So should you buy this? Only if you feel comfortable working on your own devices, if not? a professional will probably do it for between 60-100 dollars.

No more charging problems. Microphone stopped working after a couple months. Could be my fault, but not sure.
Replacement part:The microphone stopped working after a couple months of use. It's hard for me to give an accurate rating because I am not certain whether it is an error on my part or a defect with this product. I don't make phone calls often enough to know exactly when it broke. Either something in it was defective or I installed it wrong and could have messed something up when I dropped my phone (I drop it fairly frequently). I have replaced the same part in my iPhone 5 with a different brand/seller and it still works after a year of use, so I am using that phone now while my 5s isn't working. The charging port, headphone jack, and speaker still function properly but I'm not knowledgeable enough about electronic hardware to determine if it's the product or my fault that caused the microphone failure. All in all, for $7 I'd buy it again."Tools for easy installation":Quality looked like crap, so I didn't attempt to use them. I already had a set of quality tools laying around from previous replacements on other iPhones. I'd recommend buying a good set of tools for around $15 on amazon even if this is your first and possibly only install. I'd personally rather know that I have good tools that won't strip the delicate screws before taking an expensive phone apart.

Install is a pain but the part has been working great!!
So my daughters iPhone charge port got damaged when a charging cable broke off inside it. I’ve replaced charge ports on android before and it was fairly straight forward. Thank goodness this iPhones charge port uses a ribbon cable and didn’t need to be soldered (some do). This part was cheap and came with everything I needed (I already have tools)It has been a couple months and it is still working great so it gets 5 stars from me!!The install however is not necessarily easy. It took me about an hour, and I had to remove quite a few things to get to the port connector. But I find Apple products in general are harder to work in than android. So be prepared to spend some time on it as there are a lot of little pieces to keep up with (make a mental note of everything as you remove). There are a lot of good instructional videos on you tube. I recommend viewing a few to find the best one and watching it first so you know what exactly what you need to do.

Overall a good product that got the job done
I purchased this after my lightning connector began malfunctioning after replacing my phone's battery. My loudspeakers and call mic were not working, so I determined that the cable must be the problem. The replacement process was not as hard as expected, but as other reviewers said, there were some parts that needed to be transferred from the old connector. I watched a YouTube video to guide me through the process. During the replacement, I found that the rubber boot that covers the mic and routes sound from the bottom of the phone would not fit properly into the phone. My mic still works, but not as well as it did with the old connector prior to its damage. I also found that the largest screw would not fit with the new connector, so it's just kind of awkwardly sitting there with no real secure placement. On the bright side, my speaker works again. All of the other parts work too, but sometimes my phone won't charge until I plug it in a few times. I found that upon removal of the charging cord, there was some sticky residue left on the plug. perhaps some adhesive got inside the charging port by mistake? After wiping off the residue, my phone charged normally again. Overall a good product that got the job done, but noticeably cheaper than the original Apple connector.

Did the job; took about 10 minutes to repair my phone.
I just replaced my charging port on my 5s using this product and a youtube video for instructions. It worked like a charm, and for about $7 I fixed a problem that would have cost me at least $199 for my phone insurance deductible (which I will now discontinue). The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the tools which came with the port are not what are pictured (luckily I bought a separate set, the Vastar "Most Complete Premium Repair Tool Kit", which worked pretty well) and because the headphone jack/port are white, while my original was black. It's not noticeable on the outside unless you look into the ports though.
