Meet Kuan Yin in these Pages
This beautiful book is worthy of being in the library of every devotee or person curious about the Goddess of Compassion. While clearly rendering the history and herstory of Kuan Yin, whose masculine version in known as Avelokitesvara, the authors charm the reader with wonderful stories of her gentle interventions in human (and animals’) affairs. The book concludes with brief poems and a means to use them as a divination system. But above all, it is possible, perhaps in a moment of glancing up from some wise words, to meet Kuan Yin herself.

Kindle edition has formatting issues, recommend paperback instead
I saw the many positive reviews of the paperback and was eager to read this book. Apparently though, I am the first to review the Kindle edition. The formatting issues make the Kindle book very hard to read. There are regularly spaces in between words, and there are hyphens in the middle of words, leftover from the paperback formatting which make no sense anymore when in digital form. Unfortunately the formatting issues occur quite often, sometimes several times in one paragraph. It is awkward and really breaks your concentration with how often it happens. Cons ider how ha rd it is to read when someon e writes that way.Another difficulty is that for some reason the authors/publisher do not allow you to change the font of the text on the kindle. They have selected a flowery flowy font (similar to the true type font Papyrus that was popular a while back) and this again can be difficult on eyesight. It is as if they decided they didn't need to hire an editor to create the digital edition-- that they simply imported the text and hit convert, and never bothered to check the result. It is a shame because the book had great potential.

Writings About Kwan Yin Goddess - Bodhisattva and a Section for Doing Accurate, Intuitive Readings
I have had this for many years, and have used it for doing intuitive readings many times, instead of the I Ching, which used to be my favorite means. The most shockingly true reading i ever did, was for someone who asked if they should move to a certain sate. The book said that if they did, they would burn in their own blood. Years later the friend wound up with AIDS, despite taking all the precautions needed to prevent it.The cuatrain poems used for doing the readings are beautiful, mysterious and sometimes even funny. In this current issue they have have been altered here and there, from the original version.

Fascinating History of the Goddess of Compassion
From the moment I first saw an image of Kwan Yin, over 25 years ago, I was attracted to her energy. Since then I've collected statues of her that I keep around the home and office, not really knowing much about her, other than that she was considered the Goddess of Compassion. This book is the first thing I've found that clearly describes the history and energy of Kwan Yin, both as a female and as a male spirit helper. The book is easy to read, informative and very interesting for anyone who has interest in not only Kwan Yin, but the history of Eastern spirituality in general."The Kwan Yin Chronicles" describes not only her history, but her versatility as a spiritual helper and her use as an oracle to aide in spiritual and personal insight. I love the way her essence and popularity has transcended all religions. Reading this book has made me love her even more.

Kuan Yin
Very informative on Quan Yin’s legends and history. The poems are included here as well, and I have found them to be very accurate.

Love the font they chose
I'm learning so much about Kuan Yin and the history of ancient Goddess worship in China. The three men are qualified and the reading is packed w/good info, but I wish there had've been one woman. I can feel the connection with women writers, not so analytical, more depth. Love the font they chose. I didn't realize Kuan Yin was so powerful and this has intensified my awe and devotion.

Seemed to hold promise, yet ultimately disapointing
I *really* wanted to like this book. However, I just can't do it. While it really tries to convey a bit of interesting information, I have come away with two main concerns:(1) First, the book is written in an unrelentlingly stilted style, as if crafted by a well-intended child. The sentences are awkward and graceless, and word choice is at times a bit off, which makes fluid reading difficult. I tried to sink into the promise of historic richness, but ultimately the awkward style made relaxed reading impossible.(2) There are many many mentions of historic sources, yet none of them are supported by footnotes indicating the actual source. Thus an interested reader is left in the dark.Sadly, I'm sorry to report that after all the reading, I've found this book has to be a dissappointment.
