PRO-Mix Premium Organic Vegetable & Herb Mix (2 cu. ft.) Promix Soil

We bought this Promix Soil for planting tomatoes in containers. It is absolutely the best soil for this purpose. All of my plants are thriving and I should have some luscious tomatoes soon. I have used other soils in the past with really bad results. This seems to be the magic pixie dust of soils for veggies in containers. It holds the moisture very well. Because it is compressed, it is a good value of the money for the amount of soil you get. I love it and will use it again and again. I highly recommend this product.

I was buying this every year at my local Menards. Last year they quit selling it, but I had bought several bags at the end of the season. I made another layer on my raised beds, so I needed to get more potting soil to raise the level. I looked here, on Amazon and saw that it had more than doubled in price! I decided to see if I could buy something different, that could be as good. My garden did horribly last year. I saw this at a reasonable price and bought it. I recently saw that it was even cheaper so I put that bag in my cart to buy on payday. Well today was payday and the price is again the ridiculously high amount. At least I can give my seeds a good start. I refuse to pay forty some dollars for this! It's the best but I can't do it!

Quite peat heavy. I mix in perlite and compost for better water retention and drainage.

This soil is much better than big box store’s soil. I used to buy from Sam’s or Costco. My podcast greenhouse, Sharkey’s in Crivitz, WI always emphasizes good soil like Pro-Mix or Jolly Gardener. Others have quite a bit of fillers.

Product is 5 star. Period.Delivery sucks for the price paid. GLS Courier will not bring it to your apartment door. Do not order if you have medical back issues. I cancelled all my Prime again because of stupid Amazon delivery choices. GLS also, does not ring doorbells or buzz apartments. Ever. Period.What happened to "Intelcom""???They deliver right to my apartment door. A true 5 star company with class.Do not order anything heavy that may be sent GLS. I have advised people in my building of this. It also makes a huge porch stealing risk.Amazon must state who is delivering from now on. All packages. I want to know. I will not shop Amazon again until I see that.For $40 less local in Canada, I can pay someone $10 to bring it to me! So I paid an extra $30 figuring I would get delivery. Not the case.As for the soil, use fans!!! It does not do well damp. It grows beautifully when well aired. Works well in plastic pots and fabric pots.I use it as fertilizer as well, mixed with real outdoor earth and clay. Growing in clay is fun. I dig a foot and as half deep to get it.All Amazon subscriptions, even for coffee, now cancelled. Fix the delivery. It is the Year 2026 and we have "AI"!!!For fans of AI, RUFUS on Amazon is like some neutered dog or something...
