Easy to read large print. Great value at low cost. Scripture is in plain language for greater understanding. I'm very pleased and ordered one for my younger sister.

I’m glad I purchased this as I usually use the online version on my phone via the Bible app but I always like having a physical copy. The way this book is translated you get so captured in the story it’s hard to put it down. Buy today and get closer to God as he is the only one can save us. Thank you God. I'm not Catholic, but wanted a Catholic Bible so I could read the books not included in the bibles I currently have. I also wanted something lightweight I could carry with me without too much trouble. The size and weight is great for that purpose. The paper is a bit newsprinty, but smooth and the print is clear and the book text is in 2 column format. Some purchasers complained about the size of the print but I didn't find it overly small or uncomfortable for me to read with my maturing eyesight. However the brief introductions and outlines to each of the books and some of the help features in the back uses a smaller print size so might not be the best choice for those preferring large print. There is a large print version of the Good News Bible Good News Bible (Large Print). I like the descriptive chapter titles and introductions to each of the book as I find it a helpful feature. There are some help features in the back such as a summary of the books (tiny print though), some maps, word list with explanations of the words, reading plan and chronology of the bible. The pages though thin should last if not abused and thicker pages would only add to size and weight so it's a tradeoff for portability. I was interested in the Good News translation as it has a straightforward quality. Having said that it suffers some of the translation problems of the "modern" English translations and some of the translation choices differ from the KJV (I'm not recommending one above the other but want to make readers aware there are differences in bibles). As a result compared to the KJV some passages are clearer and some aren't. Here is a sample many will be familiar with, Matthew 6:9-13, the Lord's Prayer:This then, is how you should pray:'Our Father in heaven:May your holy name be honored;may your kingdom come;may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us today the food we need.Forgive us the wrongs we have done,as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.Do not bring us to hard testing,but keep us safe from the Evil One.'Lacks the majesty of the KJV and it's debatable if it's any clearer. Overall though the Good News translation is a more story like read so it's fun to read and probably a good choice as a starter bible. I find myself going back to the KJV when I want to study the bible but this bible translation has it's place. The Bible was also inexpensive. All in all it was a good purchase and I'm happy I have a Bible that isn't too large or heavy to carry with the books included in the Catholic bible so I can continue my study.

This is a Catholic Bible. It's done in modern English. Easy to follow.
