Real sardines (pilchards), great price
These are a product of Morocco and are Sardina pilchardus. The price is great. Packed in water with no added salt. These definitely have pretty much all the scales on them, but itโs not a big deal, you just rinse them off real quick. Itโs packed in water with no salt anyway so youโre not really washing off any flavor. Very healthy and nutritious for both you and your dogs or cats. Yes, I bought these for my dog and she loves themโฆbut I also love sardines myself. So I tried some. Tastes great!

Large Sardines
The old sardines I used to get for my dogs are now unavailable. These are what I chose as a replacement. I'm glad the other ones are unavailable though, because as perfect as I thought they were for my dogs, these are better. First of all, they are packed in water, just like the others. And these are lower sodium, even though the old ones were advertised as low sodium. They had 170 mg per can, and these are only 90 mg sodium per can. And these have over twice the amount of omega 3's per can. All that clearly makes these the better choice, but what I love most is this.....Every can I've opened so far has just two huge meaty sardines, not small chunks that have fallen apart. I have two small dogs, and I cut one of the sardines in half for them, and refrigerate the second sardine for later in the week. I supplement part of their lunch with this about twice per week. As far as taste, I just can't say. I cannot bring myself to eat sardines. My dogs absolutely love them though!

For my dogs
I got these for my dogs. My cats won't eat them. Don't know why. These are supposed to be packed in water only. My dogs love them. Very healthy for us and them. Great for puppies and kittens. Supposed to be good for brain development from what I've read. Skin, coat, heart and joints, too. I feed 1/2 a can to both dogs 2 times a week. Read about feeding these to your pets and talk to your veterinarian 1st. Only 4 stars because it took a while to get them. 2 weeks before they shipped. This isn't the 1st time buying these so I'm not sure what happened this time. I recommend these. Update: I can't tell you how many I've ordered, but I'll keep buying them as long as I can afford it. My dogs love them. I split 1 can between the 2 and they chow down 2 nights per week. My cats have stopped eating them though and that saves more for the dogs and saves me money. Packed in water only. Very good for them. I recommend these!!!

Not my thing, BUT my two dogs love them a toppers to their regular food!
Many people love sardines, me not too much... BUT my two dogs get these as toppers everyday on their evening meal along with some fresh apples slices. They seem to love them, but as cockers n labs do they like most everything, these at near the top of the list.

11 Reasons These Rule!
These are the bomb.com! I'm not a huge fan of sardines myself, although I will eat them from time to time because of the high-quality omega 3 content they have. I feed these to my dogs every other day because the "healthy requirements" for dog food do not include a single ounce of Omega 3's. Ridiculous. Omega 3's reduce inflammation - tremendously - improve their skin and coat, reduce/alleviate allergies (crazy scratchers/feet biters), help with arthritis, develop and protect the retina and visual cortex, promote healthy bone growth, prevent certain heart conditions, regulate blood clotting, and so much more. Why these are the bomb: 1. They are wild caught 2. Sardines are super low in mercury because they don't live long enough to accumulate it 3. No salt added 4. BPA free can 5. In water (I add olive oil or avocado oil on my own at home because I don't trust most "fish packed in oil" sources of said oil) 6. The price 7. They're consistent 8. Fantastic source of calcium (fish bones!) 9. Arrives in a nice organized tray 10. My dogs are obsessed with them 11. If you rinse the can, they don't stink up the trash (their smell isn't terribly potent)

My dogs like them, but. . .
. . .the cans are murder getting opened. Be prepared to use a manual can opener, knife, pliers, and in my case, a whole lotta cuss words. The tab breaks off leaving you with one heck of a mess. Can't vouch for the taste and freshness, since my dogs eat them. Going to try another brand next time I purchase sardines. These are way too much work to get to, for me.

just sardnines and water, nice tin, fresh, love on crackers
Good sardines. I eat them a couple times a week. I usually just eat a tin with crackers, or sometimes I will mix it with a little mayo. Sometimes I go a step further and add it to tuna and mayo for use on a sandwich or crackers. I have the 4.25 ounce container from Morocco. For those freaking out about Prop 65 warnings, please do your research.
