Aleene's Fabric Stiffener and Draping Liquid, Quick Drying, Nontoxic, For Stiffening and Shaping Fabrics, 16 oz

I used this fabric stiffener to make the trending cheesecloth ghosts, and it worked like a charm! The liquid was easy to apply and dried with a nice firm hold that kept the ghost shapes upright and spooky. It didn’t leave any sticky residue and gave the fabric a clean, crisp finish. The bottle goes a long way, and cleanup was super easy. If you're doing Halloween crafts or any fabric shaping projects, this is a must-have. Loved the results!

I embroider lace with my embroidery sewing machine. Once the embroidery is completed, I need to starch the lace to make it very stiff. This starch is the only one I’ve tried that will make things like a lace angel tree topper stiff enough to stand up

I researched something to help a fabric wreath keep it's shape. It seemed that many products would wash out, so my concern was that the wreath would be exposed to the elements and sag. I used this and I don't think that will be a problem. The treated fabric feels very sturdy after drying. The fabric stiffener was very thick, so I thinned it with water and used a paintbrush to paint it on parts of my project. It is white and I was a little concerned about color change on stiffened cotton fabric vs the non stiffened areas. There was no color change; it dried clear. As usual, Aleene's came through and worked great!

It was thicker than I thought..I watered it down and it was easy to use..

Works very well at stiffening the cotton fabric I drape on a canvas. Accepts acrylic paint easily. Holds it shape even when I turn the canvas over to apply hanging hardware. Lots of fun to use. Must work fast as it tends to dry fairly quickly.

I purchased this stiffener to use on my crochet projects. At first I didn't realize how much was needed so I mixed the stiffener with water to soften it a little, and then applied 2-3 coats. At first, it didn't seem to stiff up but with time, like overnight, it definitely hardened. I tried applying the stiffener directly, without adding water, and gave it a 1 coat, let it dry overnight, and got great results. It goes on white but dries clear. After awhile, I decided that one of the crochet project was too stiff, so tried washing it off with water. The result was, still stiff. The water did soften it a little, but did not get washed off completely. Just made it little softer than was before but still hard enough to hold its shape. Hope this review helps.

I made a rather large (12x5 inch) lace ghost and although beautiful, storage is likely impossible. I do not expect it to keep its shape or last beyond the current holiday. I was hoping it would dry rock hard, but it is flimsy, even with extra coats.

This was the recommended stiffened for a knitting project. I wasn't sure if it was available in UK and very pleased to find it. It didn't disappoint. It dries completely clear and my little knitted baskets were perfectly stiffened

It's quite a big bottle to use. So far so good to use.

Works just like it should. Takes a bit to dry but my macrame cord stayed stiff.
