Great product for people who travel internationally
To make a long story short, 2 years ago I spent a month in Europe and burned out a great pair of Wahl T-edgers in the first 2 days of my trip using what I thought was a proper electric converter. I am African American and can't use a razor because it gives me a bad case of ingrown hairs and razor bumps. I had a rough time searching for another electric shaver for my skin type while abroad. I vowed to never make that mistake again and began looking for a quality battery powered trimmer. Fast forward 2 years, was impressed by the reviews on this product and took a chance. This little thing worked great for a month in SE Asia and didn't require one battery change. The attachments worked well and I was able to keep myself trimmed up until coming back to the US.

Don’t let the price fool you, best trimmers I’ve purchased to date!
These are awesome lil trimmers! I’m a hairstylist that does a lot of clipper cutting and I use these many times per day; my only complaint is they really eat up batteries 😢 though being cordless is so helpful it’s worth it IMO. but they’re light weight, fairly quiet, precise enough for a line up, but won’t cut a wiggly child’s ear either. I’m very impressed with these and they’re an excellent value! Cutting ability that rivals my go to $75 pair (also wahls) lol

My oldest brother taught me a few things about cutting hair when I was younger, however, as a disclaimer, I am in no means, shape, or form a professional barber so no disrespect to the trade or anyone that does it for a living....mad props! I am a review junkie but I also know that each person is different and expecting different results when they purchase a product based on what THEY are looking for. I am a black male with a lengthy sized beard and dreadlocks and my miniature Wahl trimmers gave way on me after a few years......they were inexpensive and did the trick so I did get my money back ten times off of them but was in the market for a replacement. From a ''beginners'' point of view, these trimmers are solid. I reviewed everything here on Amazon and even looked at vids on Youtube and decided to go with these trimmers as an inexpensive option. As I said before, ''from a beginners point of view'' I would definitely recommend if you are looking for some solid trimmers at home (even though I seen countless vids of professional barbers utilizing) to give you a crisp line on your hair and beard. Lightweight, compact, and cuts like a champ....packs power in such a small trimmer....(small to me because I do have bear paw hands)! I did give it a 4-star rating because mine did come packaged with a Panasonic battery and I am sure that there would be a difference in the trimmers abilities if I went with a more powerful top of the line battery. All in all, great trimmer, and Wahl has done it again...for me anyway!

Initially I was skeptical about ordering this thing and when it came I was even a bit more dubious given how small it was. That said, my fears were set aside once I started to use it. Let me be upfront. It is not the most powerful clipper that I have used and it has struggled a bit on the hair on my head (black dude hair) which I shave down to the lowest setting (which is pretty damn low with this thing) but it does get the job done! I also use it to shape my bushy beard (I DO NOT shave the beard hair just shape it so that it is not wild and wire-y) which this clipper has absolutely NO problem doing. I rotate out a set of Eneloop (sp?) rechargeable batteries and those seem to be fine for one cut of the hair and trim of the beard.

Rusted within 48 hours
I used the small, black five star g-whiz twice in 48 hours. I rinsed the blades off with tap water. Next morning, the blades had rust on them. I got a full refund by Amazon since I bought it directly from them. End of story.Wahl customer support, I want to buy and like your products, but now I've got to ask which of your products do not have this problem. I just want a cordless battery powered trimmer that won't rust. As sales and business owners, it really doesn't make economic sense to sell something with metal in it guaranteed to rust as soon as it hits water, since people are going to do a 180 and get a refund.Maybe the metal does have the benefit of being easier to machine and result in higher quality blades, but it's really not an option to have easily oxidized metal in a product that gets washed frequently.I'm open to buying Wahl trimmers again, but I need recommendations for which models won't have fundamental engineering design flaws. I'll spend the money, just tell me what actually works.P.S. the trimmer works fine otherwise. Maybe a little wimpy in terms of power output, but no hair pulling. Pretty noisy, but who cares. Just lubricate it properly. It's smaller than the Remington MB4900, but the blade width is almost as long. It's lightweight and very small, so I guess if you have gigantic man-hands it might not offer the best ergonomics. I actually prefer non-permanent batteries, so that was a plus for me. The trimmer heads aren't easily removable for cleaning. I don't think the body is very waterproof (aside from the obvious aforementioned blade rusting), so be wary about using it in the shower.

Convenient
Small and convenient for when I travel to clients...but stopped working after 3rd use. .but because its the only clipper small enough to carry around but hit hard like larger trimmers.

Shaving substitute
I have had my g-whiz for about 5 or so years. It started struggling on me so I got a new one. I was thinking of changing the blade but it was only a couple bucks more for a new one. I was also unsure if it was the motor dying. I use it instead of shaving since it's zero overlap (zero gap) and leave about a 5 o clock shadow when I'm finished. Good enough for me. It definitely prefers fresh batteries. I use rechargeable. I'm going to try and take better care of this one. I also got some wahl clipper oil and will do the recommended once-a-month oiling, and wipe it down after every use.
