Disappointing
I have ordered these 2 times before and they had been very good. The product I just received was Inedible! I understand they are supposed to be salty. I grew up in Hawaii eating salty seeds and know what they are supposed to taste like. This product was practically encased with salt. I was totally disappointed I couldn't eat them...Buyer beware:(

Much too dry, hard and salty.
I was introduced to Li Hing during my recent stay in Hawaii. I ate at least a pack a day during my stay and have been craving it ever since. These did not fulfill that craving in the slightest. If you've ever had the real thing, you know that the texture is as important as the flavor. The best ones pull apart and have an almost gum-like texture. These are rock hard and shatter/powder in your mouth- they're entirely too dry. Then comes the flavor- it's no secret that this treat contains an unhealthy amount of salt. However, the ones found in Hawaii mask it well and the sweet/sour flavor is far more dominant. With this one, the salt is the only flavor I could taste. Without exaggerating, it took almost a liter of water to wash the salt out of my mouth after eating just one. The price is also too high for the amount of product but that's a minor point since I don't know the costs involved in importing the stuff and there aren't too many options when it comes to this stuff.

Taste of Canal Zone childhood
Depending on which ones you get, they are VERY good. The sweet ones, are not always sweet but that's ok. It reminds e of the "Chinese" plums we used to get in the Canal Zone, Panama in little cardboard boxes. We would eat the whole box even after we were told not to (only like 10 in the box, compared to A LOT in the bags you get here. It would be nice to have easy access to the nutritional information on these. I will say,2 of the reds in my sugar-free lemonade (10-12oz), allowed to soak a bit, add a great flavor. Need to try in other drinks too.

Love this product!
Love this product. One of the things to make my childhood cravings like Prune Mui, Pickle Mango, etc. Snack Hawaii is my GO TO. This Li Hing Mui gives me the taste of back home. I love it. Mahalo SH ๐ฅฐ๐บ๐ซฐ๐ฝ๐ค๐ฝ

Mostly sweet, not salty.
Lately they have arrived small and with hardly any salt. I use these in my adult beverages, they go great with my frozen margaritas, but they really are a lot smaller and with hardly any salt now. I think they should make some salty/sugar ones.
