Careware Dry Cleaning Sponge, 6 by 2-7/8 by 1-3/8-Inch

Soot + acoustic (cottage cheese) ceiling = Nightmare. I lit a teacup-size oil lantern and set it on a ledge in my apartment. Then went about my business. Hours later, it looked like I had opened up a portal to hell. Black soot plumed in all directions. It reached up to 12ft but was very intense up to 4ft, which included an annoying acoustic ceiling. When I googled “clean soot acoustic ceiling,” the response was generally, “call a contractor for a quote to replace it, sucker.” However, there was a YouTube video that suggested “soot away.” This sponge was the closest I could find, and other users’ helpful reviews (incl the advice not to try to clean before using this sponge) prompted me to order this. It saved me. It was larger than I expected a resilient. It started removing the soot right away with minimal smearing. As I pressed a bit harder on the acoustic ceiling, it got even cleaner, with little crumbling of ceiling or sponge. When one side got too sooty, I’d switch. Eventually, as I wanted to get everything as clean as possible, I cut up the sponge in 6 pieces, to use the clean sides. Then the sponge was a bit more crumbly but still worked. Now, you can’t even tell Sootpocalypse even happened. This sponge save me immeasurable time, hassle and money. Thanks!!

Didn't clean my blinds the way I was hoping. It will remove dust but not old dust. I just moved to a new house with filthy blinds and good old fashioned soap and water is the only solution.

I was looking for a way to clean a tapestry that is very old. My parents had gone on a mission trip to Columbia and they were given a tapestry of the Lord's Supper rather large in size and over the years collected dust so I decided to have it framed for my new and only granddaughter age almost 6 months old to have something from grandma Nana and Great Grandma and Grandpa. It is starting to fray on the edges so will now frame it. It cleaned it well and I also used it on lamp shades taking the dust and dirt off of that as well. I am very pleased! :)

I got this to clean a lampshade but had no luck and put it away. One day in a bind I didn’t have time to dry clean my suit and remembered this and wow did it work there. Highly recommended for in between touch ups on your dry clean only items!

I thought this would work well for cleaning my ceiling, which has hard-to-clean flat paint. Also, I bought it for cleaning off wall marks, thinking it would clean without dulling the finish. In practice, I have yet to find something it will clean. Years ago I successfully used one, so perhaps I am just not using it on the right surfaces.

Worked very well on grass cloth wallpaper. I rented out my home and the grass cloth wallpaper was showing many years of life but this sponge really helped clean it. Appearance is much better. Before I used this I was considering removing the wallpaper which I really didn’t want to do due to timing to get renters in and work required to remove and then paint. Totally saved me.

The sponge removes a lot of the dirt on my lampshades but it also does not remove all of the lint. I also used in on my speaker grills.

I was looking for a rubber sponge to get the dust and grime off of my wooden blinds. I couldn't find a rubber sponge online or in stores, then I found this. It is not rubber, but boy does it do the trick! It was so easy to use, just wet it and wring it out. It took the dust right off my blinds. Works on aluminum blinds as well. Plus it is durable and re-usable. Next, I am going to use this to clean my ceiling fans.
