Her job is to make his life miserable. His job is to make her submit. Whose heart will surrender first? Across the country, rebellious BDSM submissives are being systematically kidnapped, one from each club. When Gabi's friend falls prey to the slavers, the FBI victim specialist volunteers to be bait in a club not yet hit: the Shadowlands. She finds that being a bratty sub comes naturally, especially when she gets to twit the appallingly conservative Master of the trainees. But she soon discovers heโs not as stuffy as sheโd thought. Or as mean. Sheโd expected punishment, even humiliation, but she sure never expected to fall in love with a damned lawyer. Courtesy of a prima donna ex-wife, Marcus loathes disobedient submissives. When the club owner insists he train an incredibly bratty trainee, heโs furious. But as he comes to know Gabri and sees the alluring sweetness beneath the sass, he starts to fall for her. Unfortunately, Marcus isn't the only one who believes the feisty redhead is a prize worth capturing. In the world of the slaver, such treasure is worth a hefty fee. I don't think there is any other option for me than 5 stars. I'd give it a whole lot more if I could. ~ The Romance Reviews Review: Well-written BDSM; great characters & great plot! - Make Me Sir is a must-read for anybody interested in the Bondage & Domination of BDSM. Within the main plot of Gabi trying to lure Kim's captors in to making a mistake are several compelling & interesting sub-plots. We have the less-than-vanilla, sleazy, womanizing FBI agent, who, as is his nature, takes advantage of putting Gabi in the situation and this sub-plot is eventually handled very well by Gabi & the FBI Doms. Another sub-plot is why Gabi freezes up in certain situations, involving certain words. This too, is brought to a satisfactory improvement in that Gabi does manage to function in spite of it! Another sub-plot involves two of the other Shadowlands patrons and their struggle to overcome the abused past of the lady. Again, success! Another sub-plot is that Master Marcus, an experienced Dom, works to & succeeds in blowing Gabi's cover, at least to a limited number of non-FBI agents. In several reviews, various people have complained about plots not resolved. While they have their points, perhaps the best way to explain this is that the book is so richly-drawn that not everything that appears to be a plot really is a plot! She'll mouth off one moment, and turn submissive the next. He can't figure out what her issues are, and why she'd willingly cross the line when she knows what the consequences of her actions will be. I loved Master Marcus, and not because he'd say things like "Easy, sugar. You can take me--and you will." He wasn't as overbearing as all the other Doms. He was tough, but he had a great sense of humor. He also seemed to be the only one of the guys who didn't really fight the attraction to his heroine. Gabi was hilarious when she'd get into her role as the brat. What made it funnier was when some of the other hardened Doms would overhear her and choke on their drinks or sputter and try to hide a laugh. At least they showed they could be taken by surprise once in a while. Yes, there is still a lot of sex, and none of it is vanilla, but each interaction revealed a new layer of the character and usually to the character themselves. The ending is full of suspense when Jessica and Gabi find themselves in deep trouble, and not with their Masters. Ms Sinclair is still going strong when it comes to describing scenes that haven't been done before (at least not that I'm aware of): figging ... I'll never look at ginger root the same way ever again!

Cherise Sinclair had the brilliant idea of putting a series within a series
Cherise Sinclair had the brilliant idea of putting a series within a series. This is book one of an adventure/mystery series that takes place within her larger romance series. Initially I thought this was brilliant. What a great way to keep from falling into a formulaic writing style. I loved Gabi's character. Although she was a bit unbelievable at times, even the Marcus noticed that one so don't boo me, she was interesting to read. Particularly as she tried to force herself to be the character that she needed to play for her work. Marcus was more reserved. To be honest I don't remember that much about him. He was frustrated with Gabi's antics but he was shocked to discover the lack of trust the club owner had in his elite members. Trust was the was the ongoing theme of the book. I particularly liked the story within the story as Sinclair not only had the main storyline of Marcus/Gabi and the kidnappings, but there was a sub story line of trust between Z and Jess (the couple from the first Shadowland book). Jess has self assurance issues and Z is keeping secrets, not to mention he's all over the new girl and doesn't want Jess at the club. It's a great lesson in how communication and perception can easily screw with a relationship. While you don't have to read the series from the beginning, as each story stands on it's own, I would recommend that you do. It adds a level of understanding to the books that wouldn't be there otherwise. Sinclair is an excellent author whose book never fail to be interesting and entertaining stories about life and relationships.

Ok, easily my favorite in the Masters of the Shadowlands series.
Sinclair brings the noise and the kink by introducing the beginning of real plot. Gabrielle Renard goes undercover for the FBI at Club Shadowlands to draw the attention of a human trafficking ring that specializes in bratty submissives. The women are kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder for the pleasure of breaking them. It's a terrifying concept and gives Make Me, Sir alot of bite. There's something on the line in this novel. Gabi has volunteered to act as a decoy because, even though she isn't in the life herself, her good friend Kim, who is, is one of he young women who has been kidnapped. Of course, along the way, Gabi runs ass into palm with the Master of the Shadowlands trainees Master Marcus. Marcus is fit to be tied over the rebellions, defiant new trainee. Gabi is doing her best to be as difficult as possible to get noticed by the trafficking ring, even though all she wants is Master Marcus's attention. This is another great example of other types and different levels of involvement, preference and personality that comes in BDSM books and communities. Gabi is no meek sub. She's mouthy, cheeky, and cute as a button! Loved her character. Loved the wounded places on her soul and how they inform her character. I also loved that she is a super brave person. Like Jessica from the first book in the series, Gabi doesn't really participate in BDSM and really has to learn what it means to submit even though she resists all the way. Hot sex. Of course. But a really great read. Plenty of action, too. And all of our favorite Shadowlands Masters and their subs make cameos. Such a fun series.

Deliciously provocative and wonderfully written!
OMG! How I LOOOOVE this book series and author. I try to find good books with BDSM in it that isn't creepy or abusive in any way, and that can really delve into the lifestyle and show whats its REALLY all about, and Cherise Sinclair definitely did that in this series. Make Me, Sir is one of my favorites in the series. Master Marcus is the kind of Dom any submissive would want. He is intimidating, a bit scary, but has that caring and alpha personality you want in a man AND Master. Gabrielle is a wonderful spirited and brave submissive and woman. She is initially there under cover to help FBI figure out who is kidnapping bratty submissives at different BDSM clubs. But she soon discovers how much she herself crave and love the lifestyle as well as loving Master Marcus. These two have the perfect chemistry together. Sparks fly, tempers flare, and soon Master Marcus starts to fall for his spirited trainee and wants to know why she is soft and pliant one minute, and a bratty sub the next. I absolutely LOVED this story. Its kinky, deliciously wicked, and the romance is glorious yet beautiful at the same time. I can't seem to get enough of this series and am looking forward to more from Miss Sinclair!

Most fun of the series
I've read the entire Masters of the Shadowlands series (to Book 13), but this is my favorite, which I keep coming back to and re-reading with delight. I'd agree that as a series, the plot of these stories becomes a little repetitive. As this is early in the series, it didn't detract from my enjoyment. I loved the relationship between Gabi and Marcus, and seeing other characters I've come to think of as old friends now through the series was fun. I'd also agree that Gabi is over the top in her bratty behavior, but that's the role she's playing, for a very good reason. Marcus does realize her behavior isn't consistent, and I liked the way he reacted, which was smart and measured and in character. There are some absolute stand-out scenes in this book: the figging, the pursuit through the Shadowlands, the doggie punishment. They're wonderful to read - the author has such an amazing imagination. There are scenes like this throughout the series, but the ones in this book stand out in my mind because of the warmth of the relationship between Gabi and Marcus, which I didn't always feel in some of the other books. On the whole, I really enjoyed this series, but this is my favorite and I will definitely keep reading and recommending this author.

I found the plot with the FBI trying to hunt down the slavers in The Shadowlands fascinating
Spoil Free Review Rating: 5 stars - Amazing Genre: Erotic Romance Heat: Scorcher - Panty Changer Source: Bought I found the plot with the FBI trying to hunt down the slavers in The Shadowlands fascinating. Loved that this series started to go a different route with a theme. I was excited that I finally got to Marcus story. He is the sexy Dom in a business suit that alone gets me hot and bothered. His story did not disappoint. "I love you, Gabrielle, and you are mine. We will be together, sugar." His lips curved. "If your brattiness bothers me, I think you know that I can - and will - simply f*** it right out of you." I will admit I was a little nervous going into Make Me Sir because Gabi has to play a bratty sub and after reading Lean On Me #4 I felt that heroine was more on the bratty side and did not sit too well with me. To my surprise I ended up loving and feeling sorry for Gabi character. You could tell she really was not like that and was hard for her at times. She played out the bratty character perfect. She did give me a few giggles with her one liners. "You best count for me. If you show me you're sorry, I'll stop at ten. Otherwise I'll spank you until the cows come home." "That's a dumb-a** idea." She was too angry to curb her mouth. "You're a dumb-a**." She tried to kick and got nowhere. "Even Jesus thinks you're a dumb-a**." Look forward what Cherise Sinclair has in for her fans in To Command and Collar (Masters of the Shadowlands #6). Very good
4 โญ๏ธ Iโve enjoyed this series and after taking a break decided to return with Make Me, Sir. I must admit that the blurb had me second guessing myself as I wasnโt really looking forward to a put on bratty mouthy sub, but thus was so much more than I anticipated. It held a lot of zinger one liners that had me laughing out loud. I really enjoyed Gabi. She is so brave, no matter how much she was scared she kept going back in the attempt for the greater good. Her handler was a piece of work and Iโm glad he got what was coming to him. She was naturally submissive but also had the ability to mouth off and get herself into trouble. Sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. Marcus was a good fit. I liked his southern charm and loved seeing him interact with his grandparents. Although the whole crazy sub thinks sheโs mine Is getting old and you would think for guys who watch and see so much, they definitely miss these women. Glad I came back to this series as it is really enjoyable. I canโt wait for Raoulโs and Sams stories.

Erotic and funny with a dark twist.
I looked forward to Marcusโ story since, as a newly made trainer to replace Cullen, he meted out his seductive โpunishmentโ of Andrea in Lean On Me. Like they say, you have to watch the quiet ones. ๐ Master Marcusโ pace is a deliberate slow burn and nothing really ruffles him until Gabi bursts on the scene as a trainee sub with a hugely funny, brattish attitude that brings out Marcusโ lighter side. Itโs hard for Gabi to maintain the extreme level of brattiness only she and Master Z know is intended to expose a deadly slave ring that has kidnapped her best friend, especially when suffering the various consequences of that brattiness. Iโm not as a rule a fan of humiliation but I have to concede the scene with Gabiโs humiliation as punishment for yet another โtransgressionโ, one she stoically takes within her stride, is well written and funny. I think Marcusโs use of subspace as a way to get to the bottom of Gabiโs behaviour challenges the concept of consent and it brings, for him, surprising results that cause conflict between the masters and Z. However itโs well intended and it works within the story. The book is a stand alone with a HEA however it is cleverly written to leave a somewhat vague unspoken question or two about the ring and Z, that can just as easily be ignored, as well as offering a tantalising glimpse into a new master whose story I just have to read. ๐ Once again HOT master and a LOT of HOT sex that remains real and not gratuitous.

Funny, romantic, detailed plot
Make Me, Sir is my favourite book in this series so far! It flowed well, the couple are spirited and well-matched and some new kinks were definitely introduced. Look forward to great experiences with wax play, puppy play and figging. Hopefully you, the reader, enjoy them more than our heroine did. Speaking of, I loved Gabi and Marcus. There is something about the down-south country-boy charm that Marcus exhibits that just makes my toes curl. I could hear his drawl in my head and his courtly manners were divine. There is something special about the combination of a gentleman Dom. You know he is a man who will hold the door open for his woman and then smack her rear as she walks through it. Something that really sticks out in Make Me, Sir is that this is an incredibly funny book, despite some of the difficult subject matter that is broached. I felt so bad for Gabi's upbringing and the author was right on the money when she compared Gabi to a flouncy puppy and her parents to snooty Siamese cats. This is another full length novel in the Club Shadowlands series and a definite auto-buy for me. I can't wait to dive into another book in this series. I am having so much fun re-reading them!

Addictive series
Make me sir is the fifth book of Cherise Sinclair's series about the Masters of Shadowlands where the Club Shadowlands is the setting for her addictive BDSM stories. The series: - Club Shadowlands [Masters of the Shadowlands 1] - Dark Citadel [Masters of the Shadowlands 2] - Breaking Free [Club Shadowlands 3] - Lean on Me [Masters of the Shadowlands 4] - Make Me, Sir [Masters of the Shadowlands 5] - To Command and Collar (Masters of the Shadowlands) This book is a little different than the previous ones. It has some criminal fight background in it which isn't unpleasant. A sex slave merchant seems to be ordering some bratty BDSM subs for a client of his. Gabrielle volunteers to become a bait hoping to save her best friend who has been abducted. Now the problem is that Marcus, the Dom training the new subs at the Club of Shadowlands who has to take care of her does not seem to like bratty and somehow she really really really wants to please her master. Now can she convince him and the criminals that she is an submissive sub? Or will she succumb the need to follow her masters orders? I really love Cherise Sinclair's writing. If you too like burning hot erotic stories about domination and submission; if you need more than only sex; if you enjoy books with great kinky characters; if you like persons who overcome their fears trough love: then you will simply love this series. Sure this lifestyle isn't for everyone and the scenes are definitely not vanilla sex, so just see if you like this kind of themes. The storyline is nice, the story itself as well. The characters unfold beautifully. I enjoyed Mrs. Sinclair's drawing of the care the Dom takes of his sub, how focused he is on her pleasure and wellbeing, but also her explanation about what is so interesting for an intelligent woman to submit to a man without losing her independence. She also presents different types of BDSM games, with a variety of very inspiring scenes and characters. Her women are fragile but strong, intelligent and submissive; her alpha males are dominant, protective and very understanding. I discovered Cherise Sinclair while reading a review of some BDSM books by Jan Bowles and even though I liked her books I really enjoyed Mrs Sinclair's books much more as they are but deeper into the scene and the varieties of stories as well as her characters are great. Enjoy the read MBTM

Worth it!
I have read all the previousbooks in the series and will be reading the next one. For me this one was one of the best ones. I liked the tale and the telling. I enjoyed the plot and the erotica. The characters we already know are developing nicely and becoming more real ( within the slightly unreal context) and the new characters are enjoyably woven into the story. The sex scenes are, for me, erotic, well written and pushes my own boundaries (in fantasy at least) and the thriller element was good. I would recommend reading these books in series order, as I am not sure that you would get as much out of this book without knowing the other stories but it could stand alone. I thought that as the series went on I would feel it got very samey and predicatable but this book has changed my mind. I really lliked it - a lot. Well worth the money!

Another great book in the series. I liked how the main character discovers more about herself & how she has to force herself to behave in order to help other people. A good twist in the series.
