I bought these because they are low in sodium, but the flavor is oh so rich. And so versatile. I use them anywhere I would use canned tomatoes, and I also simmer them with some spices and mash them into a catsup like condiment. One thing I will point out. The cans contain some pieces with tomato skin still attached and once in awhile I come across a stem. Most of the tomatoes are of a similar size (maybe slightly larger than a golf ball) and very 'meaty' for a tomato; I wonder if they're a variety that isn't easy to peel. I just remove what I find as I cook with them. The flavor is so good, rich without being too acidic, that it is worth it to me. The shipment I received had minor dents in the cans, mostly near the seal. Because the seal was intact, I used them. Had they been dented worse, I would have requested a refund.

Canned tomatoes and sauces have an extreme amount of sodium, but not these! Even in an urban area, we can find low sodium tomato sauce, paste and tomatoes, but not these stewed tomatoes. We stock up because they can be used for so many recipes! You can warm these up and serve on toast ... delicious!

I received my 12 cans of NO SALT DEL MONTE STEWED TOMATOES today. My favorite for several recipes. The 12 cans were packed well and tightly sealed in plastic in a cardboard tray. Problem is one can does not have a label on it. You can tell it has been removed. There is a small two inch dent as well. Probably not a big deal but something I did not appreciate seeing. Quality control or something going on there. Other than that all printed numbers, top and bottom, are identical on all 12 cans. One minus label and with dent.

The cans rarely come without dents but seldomly interferes with opening. I may have to toss 1 or 2 cans per case at most. They could use a cardboard mat so cases can be treated more easily.

Aldi's had been out of stock for them. Had to buy elsewhere, more expensive. Delighted that I got a case delivered from Amazon--everything was perfect: not a dent at all, good price and delicious. Even can order Italian and differently flavored choices. I am thrifty and cook well.
