REALLY GREAT TASTING COFFEE! BLEND this for a Great Smooth cup of Coffee! Easy to do
These coffee beans arrived quickly in a vacuum packed pouch. Store in freezer (stay cool) to minimize the oils in the beans from becoming rancid & ruining the taste. These beans were nicely and uniformly roasted to a nice brown. No dark, burnt, over-roasted beans here! (If you want a darker roast go for French Roast or Espresso roast(-for morning java consumption, many prefer this lighter roast.) Beans of this Tarrazu are a nice smaller bean, plump (no old dried out beans). These Tarrazu beans will stand alone for a nice, non-acidic, gentle cup of coffee. Note: To minimize/neutralize acidity a very small amount of sugar (tsp or less) is nice. Blended it with 60% Columbian Supremo (more robust, stalwart bean) and 40% Tarrazu, then just load up the coffee hopper on the maker. Those beans in there do fine at room temp for every day use. This blend is just great for that AM cup-not too harsh, but with a good strength and full bodied taste.

5 lb bag of Whole Bean Costa Rican Tarrazu Coffee
Once again I have received heaven in a bag/cup from Amazon and Coffee Bean Direct. This coffee has a mellow wonderful taste, often time my only complaint is that I have to take the time to grind the beans before I can brew it up and enjoy the great flavor and taste. Five pounds may seem like an awfully large bag, but trust me upon offering a cup or more to friends and family I often end up sending a pound home with visitors. And then I can start the cycle over again by waiting for the next shipment. Coffee Bean Direct, has many great roasted varieties, and budgets per bag. And if you are on a subscription/shipment you can always add, subtract, multiply or even decline. I like to get the Tarrazu, and then spread out my shipments over a period of time. Say one month Tarrazu, two months later a House Blend, followed three months later by a Kona Blend, all distinct and expertly roasted. Coffee Bean Direct, feeds my addiction for quality coffee.

excellent coffee beans
I recently received my fourth 5lb. shipment of these Tarrazu beans and couldn't be happier with the coffee. We tried the Tarrazu dark roast, but it was a little too bitter/S*bucky, so its the medium roast for us. A medium grind gives a flavorful coffee, clean aroma, and not too much caffeine. Perfect morning coffee. The beans arrive fresh and not stale/dried out, as some other online coffees do. Plus, its a good buy.

Avid coffee drinker and I love this!
I have a severe coffee addiction. Every day, multiple times a day, my day revolves around my coffee. That said, I've tried many, many brands and flavors out there. At a local coffee shop, I bought Costa Rica Tarazzu and fell in love, unfortunately, I did not fall in love with the price tag for a pound. I found this on Amazon, for well under half the cost, and the stuff is great and I no longer have to break my budget getting my Costa Rica coffee! I don't like my coffee dark; this makes a great medium coffee that's not bitter at all. Don't pay attention to the people who say it wasn't roasted enough and has no flavor. That's a flat out lie. I have bought this three times so far (that's 9 individual bags of coffee), and I've yet to have a bad batch!

Subpar Coffee Beans
I don't know what happened, but these beans are not very good. They are dry, fairly bland and just not what I come to expect from Coffee Bean Direct. My boss turned me onto Coffee Bean Direct (from now on referred to as CBD) about a year ago and I fell in love with the variety and freshness. Six months ago or so I found that CBD is now available on Amazon and was a very happy camper since I am a Prime member. The first five pounds I received were the same that I came to expect from the CBD roasters, but now on my second order, Costa Rican Tarrazu seems like they shipped some really old product that is very much past it's prime. Maybe the CBD Costa Rican Tarrazu are not that popular and have sat in a warehouse waiting for some unlucky person like me. I would throw them out if I hadn't spent so much on them, I don't even want to mix them with something else since I don't want to ruin another batch of good coffee. I hope it is just a fluke, but I'm not sticking around to find out, too much money to gamble. I have now found another vendor for my fresh coffee addiction which is unfortunately a bit more expensive, however it IS fresh, oily and so tasty.
