I bought this for myself as a Christmas present. Originally I had it in mind for hikes, but I have gotten the most use out of it when picking at the local orchard. I've picked large amounts of cherries, blueberries and blackberries into this bag and it has held up well and made picking much faster and easier since I had two hands free. (Exceptionally nice when going up and down the ladders while chasing cherries) I know the weight limit says 2lb, but the only time I've seen a "problem" with this was when the bag was very full (hard to tell how heavy, but probably around 3-4lb) and I jogged a few steps to catch up with other pickers. I was shocked when the bag fell off my belt (because I didn't remember the snaps and was just threading it onto my belt) I was mad thinking it had broken but was immediately impressed with the condition it was in after. No visible strain/ the snaps worked fine after, etc. I was then greatful that it would snap off rather then break under a heavier load and have only loved it since. I actively avoid putting damaged fruit in the bag, but when the blackberries left juice and seed stains on the bag I was unhappy, but a simple was by hand with cold water was enough to remove them. Wishing I had more foraging experience so I can use it more. 10/10 would buy again.

Great belt bag

This was a perfect gift for my foraging, metal detecting, picks-up-trash-while-hiking boyfriend. It's a perfect size for daily carry on his belt without being in the way it overly noticeable. The pouch unfolds to a nice sized bag, that seems very well made and sturdy. A great gift for a very hard to buy for guy!

I’ve been waiting to buy one of these forever, finally got it and it’s the best quality. The quality and durability of it was so much better than I was expecting, and they used genuine leather with waxed canvas.

This works extremely well. Attaches to belt and can be removed easily. Handy pouch for in the garden or in the hills. Very happy with purchase. If your on the fence, just get it, works great.

It’s a five for what it is. I really do like it. Well made and definitely smells, feels and is genuine leather (excluding the bag part). The reason I gave it a four overall is bc I think a snap for when the bag is lowered and being used, there should be a snap on that bag as well. There’s one for when not in use and put away but when the bag is open the snap is just hanging and flapping there on the bag. An additional snap would be perfect. Thank you again! It really is a nice and durable belt bag so don’t let that discourage whoever reads this review.

I bought this as a gift for a rock hound, so I can only comment personally on its aesthetics--which are very good. It strikes one as pleasing and of good quality. (Sometimes inexpensive leather goods are only seem to be properly tanned on one side, and the back looks very cheap. But the leather here looks good on both sides.) For the price I was quite favorably impressed with the workmanship here. The recipient reports that this works well for the intended purpose--holding stones which may be wet or dirty. He seems glad for the upgrade from what he was using previously.
